I rang the Fatwest too and they told me there was a letter with full offer of settlement dated 2nd April on the way to me and should take 21 days (no idea why Royal Mail take so long :rotfl: ). I have sent them a 14 day LBA and by the time the 15th day comes, it will be past the 23rd April, so if no news I will issue at Court.
I suspect they have been told to say 56 days to people now but as so many people have said, since when did the Bank give us any leeway with payments? I have managed to clear my overdraft and closed my accounts with them now so I am happy to proceed to Courts if needs be, I have set time limits they have ignored them. I know what they do if I ignore them and their time limits!!
If you want to wait for the 56 days and give them a chance then that is your choice and is probably less stressful than starting proceedings! I have decided that if there is nothing by time my LBA time limit is up I am issuing. I am now getting used to the idea of what I will spend the £300 interest on!!!
Good luck
Sarah
Its funny how there must be 10 times more people going over their overdraft or bouncing cheques every day than there are writing to Natwest to reclaim the unlawful penalty charges but they manage to send out a nice £38 letter quicklyenough so why does it take 56 days to send out the same letter without the word debit on it...:)
Funny how they respond to MCOL claim quicker than 56 days too.....t*ssersNatwest - LBA sent 26/04/07, FO. Sent email to Michael Duncan on 11/05/07. SUCCESS - Offer letter received 19/05/07 for full amount.
Natwest Credit Card - 1st letter sent 27/4/2007 (£294) SUCCESS - Full amount repaid
Capital One - 1st Letter 03/2007, FO in Sep 07. SUCCESS full amount repaid Jan 080 -
Quick question - I've a claim against Natwest on MCOL at the moment, which includes interest. When it is concluded and Natwest finally pay up (hopefully!), will the Court work out the interest due to me, as the amount will obviously have increased since I put in the claim?
Thanks

Hi Pam
Your right over it taking a while to go through once with the small claims although I suppose it depends which local cc your claim is with. FatWest defended my claim in March - I wrote to the court asking for a hearing date ASAP due to the stress being caused and received a date yesterday for the 4 July! QUOTE]
I wish I'd cut my losses on the court fees and interest and accepted natwest's offer now. My claim has been with the local court for 9 WEEKS and still no sign of a hearing date0 -
Hi, Apologies for a pretty basic question but can anyone tell me where I send my first letter, is it to my local branch or Nat West Customer Relations?0

Hi can somebody please tell me what I should do now. I have sent the court letter to my bank Nat west and I waited 14 working days but had no reply so I sent the final warning letter and 7 working days is up today but I have still had no response, should I phone the bank? I hand delivered the letters so they can not say they have not received them. I am claiming back £423.00 in charges I did not ask for the interest on these charges. What should I do now? regards Janeydon0

I took Natwest all the way through Moneyclaim and ended up getting the full amount, plus interest, and court fee paid to me about 5 days before the deadline was up. I'd say stick with it but the only thing that concerns me is the amount you are claiming!
You can only claim up to £5k in a small claims court. Are these charges all on the same account or different ones. If different ones that start proceedings for all of them, if it's the same account I'm afraid I don't know what to advise!
Thanks for the advice we took a court order out on moneyline link and right when we were about to take the judgement link they offered us half the amount and threatened to close the account if we dont take it. We were wondering what to do next whether to accept but after reading your comments I think we will stick with it. :T0
