had my sky hd installed yesterday. i asked the guy to move my dish a bit higher as in the summer the trees cause interference. instead of moving it he put a brand new dish up. he asked me if i wanted him to remove the other one but told me hed have to drill another hole in my wall to secure his ladders. told him not to bother. i reckon i can now sell my old sky + box and dish for around £40 on ebay. so not only do sky give free box, free installation and 12months free hd subs, you can actually make money by taking out this deal if offerred.
the hd picture is clearer but i certainly wouldny pay £10 a month exttra for it. the new programme guide is much better though.
i havent got the phone or broadband and only have entertainment, kids + sports, but with hd you now get some documentaries0 -
ive just phoned sky and blagged my way through the phone call to get
free hd box
free installation
free hd channels for 1 year
i told them that we'd had a phone call a week ago and no one was in so sky had left a message saying theyd call back,i said someone had rang again today and spoke to my partner offering the hd deal but as i was the account holder i was the only one who could authorize the deal.I told them they said to ring back asap as the deal was due to end on 31st march,i also said the man that my partner spoke to said he would leave a note on my account (untrue of course).I was asked to hold while they went into my account and when he came back he said yes i could have the deal!!!!! theyre coming to fit it on wednesday!!!!0 -

I have just tried calling sky about this offer,
The lady on the phone just offered me Free Hd box and £15 instillation.
and just kept going on about it being via outsource team although i dont think i was put through to retentions.0 -
Anyone who didn't get the free HD for a year offer, a customer service person said it may be because you have another discount on your package (like mine 25% off for six months). I was told to ring back in June when my discount ends and they will offer something else such as free HD.
That is untrue. I have currently got a 25% off for 6 months as well due my threat to cancel a couple of months ago. I have been offered free HD with HD box etc.0 -
Called in again and they offered me nothing. I know I am still having an offer on my account, but I cant resist trying. The guy suggested to call in on the 26th...0

I didn't suggest that my Daughter uses BT, she doesn't, she also can call the USA etc. for no additional charges, she just doesn't like the way that Sky take control over everything and there seems to be no quick way out if things go wrong.
She also isn't stitched in to a long contract with her provider.0 -
Don't know if this helps anyone with how to get the free Sky HD offer but I called them today as I am moving house next month and need multiroom in the new house. Initally, I was told a Sky HD box would be £49 plus £60 installation.
Having read peoples posts and knowing someone at work got free Sky HD and no HD subscription for 12 months, I told a little white lie, and said I recieved a call earlier in the week from someone at Sky saying I could have a free Sky HD box. The nice man in the Moving Home dept said he'll check my account to confirm that I had recieved the call earlier in the week ( I panicked at this point ) but amazingly he confirmed I had recieved this call that never happened.
He went and told manager who then authorised me to have a free Sky HD box and free installation. With no fee for HD subscription for 12 months. I only need to pay for the £10 multiroom fee, but I needed that anyway.
Hope the mystery sky call can help people achieve the deal that they deserve as Sky customers.0 -
