ss - meant to say great news about DH coming home but LMAO at your lst for him!
A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Where does the time go?
  • Wow feelie that's one hell of a post!

Aw Caz, big hugs for ya!
SM - have a good lesson.
Glam - Glad Jack is feeling better!
Pookie - lovely pics, Liam looked ever so small in his moses basket too! He was slightly bigger than Matthew at birth, but I don't think he'd fit into his basket at all now!
SS - Glad hubby is coming home. Don't be too hard on him, just plonk him on the sofa with baby, nappies toys etc :D

Prams, I've not had a problem with Liam being in the 3D. I must admit the strap are quite secure even on a little un, but he never did move around very much in it. L:iam is begging to look a bit snug in it though, but I really don't want the change to pushchair. Oh, and I find it's just as much effort taking out the car seat, changing the settings on the pram etc than it is to put the full pram up. Glam, it we're out and stopped to eat/drink whatever, I always take Liam out for a bit of a change in scenery.

I'm still annoyed with my Mum and apparently I have now upset my Sis too! I didn't aske her watch Liam whilst I took hubby to the NHS walk in center, we asked MIL instead. It's my Mum's fault for telling Sis she was needed  Anyway, MIL did just as I said, but she did give him a bit of Calpol on his dummy cos he had been crying for 40 mins since we left. I can live with that, but would prefor not knowing ;)

    *Bad Parent Alert*

Had to go speak to Bens teacher after school and as you can't get a pushchair into any part of the school I took Maddy to a flat part of the playground, put the brake on and told Ben to stand there and not move. I didn't even step into the class just went to the door and then left. Was only 2 minutes but Ben took the brake off and came across the playground which is on a slope, he tipped it! I had her strapped in so she didn't even wake but I was shaken up and told Ben off. Only one mum came to help  but one saw fit to call out that I shouldn't tell him off as it was my fault not his as I shouldn't have left him! How the bloody hell do I manage then! When she's awake I carry her down but she was asleep.

    Caz, this happened yesterday.

See Susan, the 3rd link is about a 2 year old in a car seat, could of happened at any time, the rest of the links seem to suggest that it's because the babies head lols forward thus making it harder for them to breathe. Would that even be classed as cot death? Sounds more like suffocation to me. I had a blanket rolled up underneath the car seat, at the front, so it was more backwards than upright, but still at angle so she wasn't flat down.

Plus the 2nd link is based on 9 babies that had apparently been found blue in the face at one point. It's not a varied study really!

I just think there is a lot of scare mongering that goes on with a lot of things related to infants, common sense is all you need.

There is a version of cot death in adults, where they just die for no apparent reason.

Tia, I'd like some kitchen fitting fairies please?

Sami, Ben has asked if we could have an aquarium gift please? :D
    Sent a starfish :)
I apologise for the mega post, I've probably missed a few more pages while writing it! Perpare yourselves. Feel free to skip most of it, but look for your name, in case I've said something:

Sami_Bee - the bibs are great, especially the one with sleeves. LO ate loads of yogurt this morning, almost a whole pot! Have you got something for the spot? Toothpaste works sometimes. Car seat instructions are silly. Mine mention a storage compartmemt I didn't know about, but the instructions were in there! Took me a few months to find them!

Oh, and are we due any newbies from the pregnancy thread soon?

Cos I couldn't fit it elsewhere, bad parenting, at the station, a baby (maybe about 12-14 months) was fussing in the buggy, so the Mum leaned in and shouted 'Shut up' really loud in her face, the lkaughed to her mates :(
The sleeved bibs are my fave (I gave you a few styles coz wasn't sure which you'd like) they still fit my skinny mini now, just as 3/4 sleeves :p I've got spot stuff but it's annoying me that I can feel a lump of nasty under the skin but can't get it out

GISI is hopefully a mummy now, she was due on the 4th and had induction booked for day before yesterday (I think!)

Just found out a not very close friend is pregnant, due in june and I'm wondering if the fact that her and her DH were cooing over Edgar like mad roughly 3mths ago has anything to go with it :rotfl::D

aw dont back out! it will be fun :)

when me & my friends went shopping on tuesday all 3 of the babies were in car seats from 11am until at least 5pm, they only took them out to feed them even though we sat down for ages!I took my joey and Jack stayed on my lap the whole time we were in the food hall - they wondered why he was so alert all the time  dont get me wrong Jack goes in the car seat around ASDA but for long car journeys I always stop after 2.5hrs.

Its a bit dodgy round there - all them arcades and freaky adventure parks ;) and he might run into my bro phished as a fart roaming the streets :rotfl:

can someone tell me why my 11 week old baby is only happy if he's standing up with me supporting him?

Tia - thanks for tampon question i was wondering the same myself having just finished my 2nd period and HATING pads althou apparently I'm weird cos my 3 friends only wear pads!

Jillie - where did u suggest meeting on Tuesday? Is it the food court bit where Gok does his parade at the end of his show?

I always find it weird when 'grown ups' still use pads, it's like wearing a nappy bleugh

babies love to stand up!, if your thighs get sore from him constantly digging in try standing him on the floor between your legs - hands free too!

Is that weird? They're lovely smelling teabags and I'm sending them to people on a different website I go to. Everyone puts up small Christmas wishes and the ones you can grant, you do, and everyone does the same. I'm sending out the maps I picked up in Paris, teabags, a bag of garam masala and a spare lip balm, and I'm receiving a bunch of lowish fat recipes, a burn of a DVD I've wanted forever and a step by step on removing the bug infestation in our apartment.

    ...
I just wondered why the teabags were so special that 22 people would want them :)

    Have you seen this http://www.firebox.com/product/2584/Global-Secret-Santa?itc=192&src_t=nwt&src_id=273&via=main
    I'm tempted, it sounds fun

  • Does anyone want or need a boys snowsuit aged 3-6 months. Matthew just got bought one and by the time it will fit him it will probably be spring. Its really thick, light blue corduroy fabric with dark blue stars. Its really lovely but just never going to get worn cos of his size.
    Coming soon............
Brand new baby first showing in November!
Brand new baby boy (Matthew) born 3 weeks early weighing a diddly 5lb 4 oz!!
