Thanks feelie, it doesn't matter if you don't play it, I'll try to remember not to keep sending you gifts so you don't get loads of things in your gift box :)

the rest of the links seem to suggest that it's because the babies head lols forward thus making it harder for them to breathe. Would that even be classed as cot death? Sounds more like suffocation to me. I had a blanket rolled up underneath the car seat, at the front, so it was more backwards than upright, but still at angle so she wasn't flat down.
Cot death is just the common name given to sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). A bit like hayfever is actually seasonal allergic rhinitis and doen't actually have much to do with hay. They estimate that 24 out of 280 "cot" deaths occur in car seats so that is roughly 9%.

I'm not questioning what you did - I just wanted to make sure other people were aware of the potential risks. Obviously having propped the carseat back a bit with a blanket would have reduced the risk based on the theory of why cot death occurs in carseats but you didn't mention that and someone else deciding to do the same (i.e. have the baby sleep in the carseat at night) might not think of that.

Again I was not criticising you - I was just flagging up the potential risks so that other people can make informed decisions about whether to do the same.

Incidentally an alternative (which our midwife suggested we do) is to put a pillow under the head end of the moses basket.

I use a mooncup SS, when you get to test it out, persevere, and don't panic when you need to get it out!
    :rotfl:

Also if the stem is too long at first, don't cut loads off straight away as you may find you postition it slightly higher after you've put it in and out a few times.

Only if you haven't got it in far enough.

Mazcabs - how are you getting on? Did you decide to go for Iron Tablets (and prune juice perhaps?).
Oh, and are we due any newbies from the pregnancy thread soon?

I'm fine thanks, just a lot of heartburn but cream soda helps!! Saw dippy MW today and she says I really ought to take iron tablets in case there is a problem during labour despite me saying that they caused me real problems before so I think instead of 2 tablets a day think I will do 1 every other day!

Also technically I'll be a newbie from the pregnancy thread (dont contribute much to it) in about 5 weeks time !!

No that's fine Susan, always good to be informed. I just mostly ignore government stuff, they change it every other week, I'd of been a neurotic mess if I'd listened to everything they ever said.

Is that for everywhere sami? I said to OH I wouldn't let Keira get it and he went off his head at me saying DO YOU WANT HER TO DIE?!! It's flu! Regular flu kills people too! I don't fancy Keira being a guinea pig for a very new vaccine.

SM - OH had his first driving lesson with an instructor yesterday (He drives his mums car with her or his dad there though) and the guy said that the average lessoons people take is 40, but told him he wouldn't near that much.

OH's problem is he stalls at traffic lights whilst waiting, and for some reason keeps braking going round corners, lol.

I'm eating macaroon and feel so sexy.

Oh yes and a big huge clump of my hair fell out earlier when I was washing it, I'm really worried I'm going to go bald!
