Hi
Fo those of you wh use cuircular needles a lot , which lengths would you say are 'must haves'. a) for socks b) adult jumpers c) hats ?
I have bought one Addi needle so far and it's 32inches..
Before I part with any more cash, what combination would you suggest ?
Thanks in advance
ps thanks for all the answer on my previous postI've decided I am more laid back than I previously thought.

Oh Rufusdog, those dolls are brilliant. Have you used a pattern or made them up yourself? The second picture looks just like my sil!
pol
Thank you so much. I made up the pattern myself. I saw some pics on the special occaisions threads of a kit someone had bought and liked it a lot but thought it was too expensive to buy. I have another one finished, waiting on OH to put the pic on the computer for me.0 -

I started out with a couple of circulars with the fixed cords, but I'm really glad I found the Denise circulars http://www.knitdenise.com/, you can also get Knitpicks which were mentioned further back in this thread http://www.knitpicks.com/interchangeable+circular+knitting+needles_NL300312.html These are so much more economical in the long run as you have all the needle sizes and all the cord lengths and they are all interchangeable.
Hope that helps.

Evening all
Just had to pop by and say how great I think that black sheep wool are....
I placed an order for 20 balls of wool (its being discontinued and I loved working with it -thats my excuse and Im sticking to it) anyway it was listed @ £1.50 a ball... they still only charged me their standard £1 postage -even though it would have cost them about £4 to get it out here...
I have just opened the bag and on the compliments slip they have written that "it has been reduced again to £1 a ball" I assumed they meant what they still had in stock...but amazingly -they have only charged me £1 a ball too:j
So I have 20 balls of wool for £21 inc p+p when it should have been £30+ £4 p+p :T
Right back to my crafting....:D-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

Re knitting your pattern in chunky rather than dk: What is it about this particular pattern that you like? If it's the fair isle design, then would you be happy with it in a different size? - if you use chunky, the design will come out "bigger", if you see what I mean. If that's okay with you, what I'd suggest is finding a pattern for a similarly-shaped hat in chunky, then using the number of stitches and the decreases etc for that along with your fair isle design - how many stitches in the chunky pattern, how many stitches in the fair isle design, and working out a way to combine the two. If you want me to have a look at the pattern on Ravelry and see what could be done, send me the link :-)
Hi BBP, just to say that I had another delve into Ravelry and found a pattern http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/wedge-hat
that I am using as the basis for my hat - since it uses chunky. I'm experimenting as I go and enjoying the new-found freedom given by this pattern - although I do have to keep logging on to other links for various bits to find out how to do them:rolleyes:.
