  • Gave in and had to have a cuppa yesterday, I felt so rough and ill!! Ended up having a nap when I finished work, I was so tired from lack of caffeine.

Had a cuppa this morning, hopefully it will be the only one of the day, just to take the edge off the craving :o

Can't believe how rough I felt without tea! How scary is that!

  • Welcome Jenny,

I'm doing alright on my challenge. I find myself trying to catergorise what is a cake and what is not....Is a muffin a cake? Is a toasted tea-cake a cake?

    Endless questions, lol

While I can't say I'm in any way an expert, I am an experienced snacker and I would say, with some degree of confidence, that a tea-cake comes under the 'toast' category, not 'cake', despite the silly name.

Not sure about the muffin though.
  • I have a takeaway problem already. My friends have invited me round for a takeaway and a film. We do this quite regularly and the takeaway is a bit of a treat for my friend as we always get it from this really great Chinese near me that she loves.

What would you do? I'm only 12 days into my 100 day challenge and don't want to give in. Should I be a takeaway pooper and take sandwiches ;) ?

    Hi everyone!

raphael I can't beiieve you've given up tea, that is hardcore! Because even though I've 'given up' toiletries and cosmetics, I've only given up buying them, I still use loads everyday!! Well done you. What about trying Decaf tea? I always have PGTips decaf and it tastes just as good to me.

I'm still doing ok - nothig else bought, yay! And I finished a shampoo and conditioner at the weekend (unfortunately on the same day, so I only got half the satisfaction I could have had, I feel cheated). I'm working on a suncream (I wear it everyday under makeup in summer), but with this awful weather I may have to admit defeat on that one and put it back in the cupboard until spring (it's a myth that it loses it's effectiveness by the way, I burn in minutes, so I'd know. I think it's just a ploy to make you buy more).

Good luck to everyone, stay strong!

    Hi Raphael

You are doing really well with the tea but it's very hard to just give it up cold turkey. It's an addiction to caffeine and like anything else you will get withdrawal symptoms when you come off it (I know because I tried and felt rough and had to give in). Perhaps you should try weaning yourself off it gently. Maybe 2-3 cups per day and see how you go? I did that and felt better but gradually I started drinking more and more again and now I embrace my caffeine addiction:o

That is such a hard decision to make. I know I would be weak and go for the takeaway option, especially if everyone else is eating it. I would like to say that I'd be good and take sandwiches but that would be a lie:o Can you suggest that evertone brings sandwiches? Maybe everyone could bring a different variety and you could swap. Call it a healthy night in:rotfl:

Good luck with your choice. I'm looking forward to hearing what you do:D

  • This might already be on here but there are a cuple of websites where you can pay just £1 for three copies of a magaziine. They offer a lot of choice and deliver them straight to your door. Just please remember to cancel the standing order before you are charged full price.

If you live in London and can't resist getting a coffee on the way to work then try Krispy Kreme. Their smallest size is only £1.55 (cheap by comparison) and if you buy before 10a.m. they give you a free glazed donut!

I think it would be a shame to miss the takeaway - it would make you look quite anti-social so treat yourself! It's only a one-off.

How about buying a couple of cheap pizzas from Iceland? £1 each and technically not a take-away.
Still quick and easy movie comfort food :)

I've had another cup, during my lunch break, so that's 2 today. Cutting down might be the safer way.

Looks like the way to go! Will have to get rid of the caffeine addiction first!

  • Thanks for the suggestions re takeaway issue. I just got a text from my friend rearranging it, so it's not going to be for a few weeks now. By then I may be crawling the walls so I may well give in! :D I will let you know.
