I agree made coleslaw with mine yesterday what a mess:confused:

I've got one of those mini choppers that Delia used all the time in that awful series she did recently. It's fab, and it goes in the dishwasher. I use it every day and don't know what I did without it!
  • I just use a hand mixer to whip my egg whites and my oopsies come out brilliantly. Never do them in a pan - I usually bung them in the oven while I do other things.

I have a new favourite thing too. I make a bigger batch of mixture (4 eggs/4oz philly) and after making 8 normal sized oppsies, I spread the rest in a big rectangle and cook it. When it's done, I turn it over (still warm) slap a 2 egg & water thin omelette onto it, a little grated cheddar, roll it up and eat it as a wrap. It's delicious. :D

  • Ted can you work out my calorie intake should be im 5ft 6 quite a sedatory job hate excersise but allways doing something love my garden and house work ,Frightened to eat more calories and keep forgetting to drink water,is this where im going wrong ?(11stone & 7 pounds:confused:
Sorry I don't know how old you are I'll guess. 30

BMR calculator enter height, weight and true age here. 1524.55calories (this is if your 30)

Multiply by the appropriate number here
BMR 1525 calories x 1.375 (lightly active gardening housework) =2 096 calories less 500 if you want to lose 1lb week = 1596

If you haven't a calculator to hand the google searchbar works as one using for X and / for divide.

See here what it says about Calorie Intake to Lose Weight

but also bear in mind I didn't ever count calories or carbs so while I understand the logic of ensuring you don't make life hard for yourself by consuming more food than you need I also managed to lose weight successfully by always eating around the level of my BMR without ever deliberately eating less than that.

PS rather than forgetting to drink water (there is a study showing drinking water throughout the day doesn't help weight loss) it may be better not to drink water with meals but have a big drink 500ml around a pint at one go between meals. and here

    OOPSIES
    3 eggs, separated
pinch (1/8 tsp) cream of tartar
    3 oz cream cheese
Whip the egg whites and cream of tartar until VERY stiff. in a separate bowl, combine the cream cheese, and egg yolks. Mix well then gently fold the yolk mixture into the egg whites. Very gently!!!! .. dollop them onto non stick mat and cook approx 15/20 mins.... i sometimes add a spoon of almond flour or protein powder to the yolk mix to thicken it

    happy cooking!!
