Thanks so much for this, I too have tramped the boards with no success! Have black onion seed in readiness too. Can I ask how the pizza's turned out as am tempted to try them in the oven (not clay but gets vey hot!)

Off to find out what is in a peshwari nan now as these seem to be very variable in quality when bought so may be able to make the scrummy ones at home, what fun.

From my panasonic breadmaker recipe booklet:

    1/2 tsp yeast
    250g strong white flour
    1tsp sugar
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp baking powder
    1tbsp veg oil
    2tbsp natural yogurt
    100ml water

    Use basic dough program.
Divide dough into 4 balls, roll into oval shapes 25x10cm, place onto greased baking sheets, bake under pre-heated grill for 2-3 mins each side until browned and well puffed. NB must be cooked under a very hot grill to create the air pocket inside the bread.

I often chuck in some sultanas and dessicated coconut - lovely.

I made your recipe for naan bread allicouldwishfor, it was great - thank you so much! I need to add a bit more water though, as 100ml was not enough to form a dough. Did I do something wrong?

Have my curry cooking now, want to make naan bread but I have no natural yogurt - can I make it without, or can I substitute it with something else (I have no cream either)

The type of naan with a sweet coconut-raisin-ground almond filling you get in Indian restaurants.

I've looked on Google but not found anything.

    thanks

    Hi Angelina,

There's an older thread with a recipe for naan bread that should help so I've merged your thread with it to keep all the replies together.

For anyone else who doesn't have a breadmaker Curry Queen posted a recipe for making it by hand here.
