Mymoviestream problems

Hi all,
I am having some problems with mymoviestream. I signed up to the trial with them quite some time ago and nothing happened, no registration details turned up, and of course no DVDs as I hadn't selected anything, as of course no registration details turned up.
Moving forward I received a text from them asking to ring them. Odd i thought, maybe they will try and sell me a new trial or something. Rather surprisingly though, they informed me i was in their debt and owed them quite a lot of money.
I explained what had happened, and that i was surprised. It turns out they had been debiting my credit card off and on, and i hadn't noticed. When my card expired it started failing.
I said to them at the time that i was happy just to call it quits, they can retain the money they have taken from me and stop the rebills. They said that wasn't acceptable, and i asked them to put their position in writing. I heard nothing again for several months.
Today i get a text message asking me to ring this chap. Now it was a really informal text message so i just thought it was a work contact, but no, its a debt collection agency.
I am a little shocked at this point, i've not heard anything from mymoviestream, not received anything product or service wise, not had anything in writing from them and so on. But now i have a debt collection agency chasing me for £114!
Does anybody know where i stand here? I kind of begrudge paying any money here because it appears if i do pay then i will have essentially paid mymoviestream for damn near a years subscription without receiving any communication, information and so on from them.
thanks

I got a letter today from C.A.R.S credit recovery, saying i owe 183.87
wasn't aware my account was open, have changed credit card and email details since so received no correspondence about it.
183.87 is not something i can afford to pay for receiving nothing for 12 months
I've been told by cars to make an offer of repayment if i can't afford it but its really ruined my week to be honest.
think its time for :money:to step in!:mad: Save us!

Hi, I received a letter today from C.A.R.S regarding mymoviestream. They say I owe £95, but when I rang for a break down they said they aren't sure what it's for. Last month I paid a different credit collection agency £25. My cards were cancelled in November so I owed them for 5 months payment - £25. I received no warning that this was going to be sent to a different credit agency.0

interesting that we all got this today.0

Also, i can't get into my account because i don't remember my password or security question
could someone else who's had the C.A.R.S letter confirm that their accounts are closed and their not continuing to charge even while sending in the debt collectors?
I'm terrified that i'll just end up with these huge bills every year from them
I really don't know what to do about this. i tried ringing my moviestream at 4pm yesterday and got a machine saying "i'm sorry, but we are only open 9-5 monday to friday :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
please someome confirm my account will be closed and i won't be billed any more!0 -

hmm... do you remember your password/security question?if no one can log in i can assume they've closed the account.and i know their absolutely evil robbing !!!!!!!s but i don't think even they could get away with reopening the account when they get the money from the debt collectors and starting it over again could they :S0

This has happened to me too. At least you actually got someone useful at customer service. I got someone with bad attitude who said "Look i'm not playing email tennis with you"
I have got enough on my plate at the moment without getting this kind of crap out of the blue who do they think they are.. I wish I knew what could be done.:xmastree:Self Certified Christmas Addict:xmastree:0 -
I can't log in either. The last time I did log in I froze my account though so that should mean I am safe for a few months. Maybe with the new tax year they decided to have a crack down. I'm just worried they are going to claim for DVDs I know they received but won't be able to prove without accessing the online system. I e-mailed the CARs contact address and said I disputed the ammount and had an email back to say that it would be put on hold whilst they contacted the client. However, the same day as the e-mail I had another letter which I received today from 'Courtlink' threatening court action!0

I'm surprised to hear all of this. Mymoviestream are by far the best DVD rental company i've ever dealt with and after canceling my account with them, the only contact i've had since is them trying to get me to come back.0
