REPORT BOARD For MYMOVIESTREAM complaints

After being victim to this company, I thought it would be a good idea for everyone with BAD experiences to post the experience in detail on here.
That way, if anyone ends up going to court thanks to these people, the plaintiff (the one being sued) can print off these reports as evidence that this company are deceptive, underhand and use bully boy tactics to extort money from innocent people.
There seems to be a pattern:
1) They hook you in with an "easy to cancel" trial with a free DVD or cinema tickets as the icing on the cake.
2) They send you 3 scratched tatty disks that don't work properly.
3) You try to cancel during the free period but, hang on! Why can't I log in? My password and email are definitely correct!
4) You eventually log on with the password reminder being emailed to you, but, HANG ON! I cannot see anywhere to cancel on "My account"
5) You ring customer service and get abused and treated like an imbecile.
6) You eventually manage to cancel with the 'help' of customer service
7) Your last disc goes *missing* in the post! Oh dear. Good job you got proof of postage (WHAT?)
8) You are sent a form to fill in about the lost disc, and return it with proof of postage (assuming you got it)
9) You hear nothing until.....
10) What's this? A letter from a debt collection agency THREATENING me with court if I don't give this company £100+ for what? Absolutely NOTHING!
PEOPLE. DO NOT PAY THESE PEOPLE. DO NOT WORRY!

I used them, they were fine!
But I was a customer where I used their service for several months.
Perhaps your thread would have been better off being called "free-loaders beware!"0 -
Sorry, I started this thread for people who have had problems with this company. A company offering free trials, who send tatty old discs out, which don't work!
If you are happy to pay for this sort of "service" good for you.
A free trial does what it says on the tin. You trial the service, if you are happy, great. If you think the service isn't very good, you can cancel, without penalty.
I think it's a bit rich and, furthermore rather rude, to say people who cancel within the trial are simply !!!!!!!!!!s!

My disks worked, is there anything wrong with the concept of paying for some "services"?0 -
Oh and your idea is a load of pish because this couldnt be used as evidence without backing corrobation
i.e I could say its !!!! and I have never used them0 -
This board is for any people who have had problems with the aforementioned company. As neither of you, quite clearly, have, I suggest you waste your time elsewhere instead of hanging around vent boards trying to provoke people into entering into debates with you.

Hopefully the debt collection company explained their customer's reasons. Also surely mymoviestream would have made efforts to collect the money from you before getting debt collectors on to you?!

Thanks anewman. That's very nice of you to provide those links.
Interesting that most people on the links you provided's experiences follow the pattern I described above.
Unbelievably, this company are not operating within the bounds of normal decency. Many people have reported cancelling the account, then around a year letter, completely out of the blue, getting a threatening letter from a debt collection company demanding at least a hundred pounds on behalf of MMS, with the threat of court action for non-compliance.
Many people have agreed to pay, as they are scared of the consequences of non-payment. This company beggar belief. I am hoping if people join this thread, we can unite and help each other to fight for our rights!
Thanks again.

I'm at the last disc missing stage...eek. Hope I don't get treated like this!My debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |

I've had a new month charged to me, and 2 new discs sent out despite cancelling and sending all my discs back. So that's ANOTHER trip to the post office to get the proof of postage.
Any idea if I can claim back the £14.99 through the bank or does it have to be refunded by them?My debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |
