  • M2YD screwed up a previous contract that I bought off them - failed to connect to Orange, who are still demanding £70 odd quid from me, despite me returning the phone almost immediately... M2YD have spent an age dealing with this - and still haven't sorted it out.

I do already have 1 contract through them... and yet to claim.

Anyway, I just tried to order my 2nd and 3rd phones from these guys. For some reason, order bounced. Now their site is down... Hope it isn't curtains, for the sake of my first contract. Just been stung on 3 contracts with Phones2UDirect as well.

I'd be extremely wary of these guys.

I'm one of the unlucky ones with M2YD.....have just been informed by them that my first claim form was never received and I'm now out of time so can kiss my £480 goodbye.

I sent the form & bills recorded delivery but then went on holiday and forgot to check they'd been received. Kept meaning to dig out the recorded slip to do so but kept forgetting. Guess what - it's lost.

That's one expensive mistake learnt. Can't wait to cancel this contract.

Sent mine second class non-recorded without a problem. Naturally I would have implemented my back-up plan had it not arrived. People shouldn't blame the dealer if they're the ones making the mistake.

Oh don't get me wrong - I'm not blaming the dealer here. It's my own fault for not checking sooner!

I should have added that my tale shows you need to be soooo careful to keep on top of it, especially as if the first claim fails, they all do! Whoever mentioned it, it's sound advice to send in your claim and then follow up a few days later to ensure it's received so you have plenty of time to re-send if needed.

    Am still gutted though!

Just checking I'm going to get my first claim in correctly, I wait until the date on my first claim form and then send in the latest bill I've received on that date. I'm going to send in copies as I have 2 contracts (both with cashback) but Vodaphone have sent a single combined bill covering both phones. Any other advise regarding my first claim welcomed.

Don't worry. Copies are fine; just check it tracks on recorded delivery. After that sit back and wait! Vodafone are an absolute nightmare with regard to splitting bills. Their so-called customer service is a farce and they are utterly incompetent.

They don't confirm either way - you have to ask. Allow at least two weeks after they receive it before they know it's been received, processed and approved. Then another 2-3 weeks for the cheque.
