    Surprised this didn't get a mention. :)
Eurozone businesses grew at the fastest rate in nearly six years in March, led higher by France and Germany, a closely-watched survey has indicated.

The latest Markit Composite Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) rose to 56.7 from February's 56.0. A reading above 50 indicates growth.
The findings signalled the bloc's recovery was "surging higher", the report's authors said.

Job creation was at its best level for almost a decade, they added.

Always good when your customers have a bit of extra money in their pockets.

Pret must have their head in their hands though. Already only 1 in 50 applicants are British so they're already sweating on Brexit and, now, Eurozone economies are doing a better job of providing employment for their citizens.

..and poor Londoners might have get used to the horror of not having a coffee shop within 20 metres of their current location.

I see that Junckers is moderating his tone; have other Eurocrats been having a quiet word in his shell-like?

    Reported widely.

I think it must be the Westminster attack - even Guy Verhofstadt, who gave an interview to Bloomberg this morning, was sounding less hostile.

Guy Verhofstadt said quite clearly in this interview that there would be a transitional period of between 2 to 5 years - unfortunately haven't found a link to the interview.

I deal with the EU for my job (travel) and Brexit is a massive ball ache for everyone. None of us on either side want it, it is already having a detrimental effect on the level and nature of our business and the Europeans are coming out of it much better than we are because they are quite simply cancelling their plans to come here and going to other EU countries.

Glib comments such as yours give me no faith that Brexicists have any understanding of what is happening, or are that you are going to be of any help whatsoever in overcoming the maelstrom of problems you are causing.

My friend owns a hotel and they facing closure because they are empty. None of the late winter construction workers came as so many projects have been cancelled.

They are now looking at an empty booking sheet for the Spring because the European tourists have all cried off. They have been full every year for a decade until all this.

People are losing their livelihoods over this mess.

I hope you enjoy your synth. With a tourist rate if about $1.15 to the £, import duty and VAT to pay on it's way to the UK - there is no point on recent history where you could have lost more money on it.

Guess you better get used to it though because in 2 years time it will cost just as much to import things from the EU.

Just out of interest - did you cry for all our exporters when the pound was $2 to £1 ?

Pound goes up - pound goes down.......

I just ordered a DSI Rev 2, a new American synth over the net. Nothing could have been more simple. The USA is of course not in the SM nor has a trade deal with the EU. According to your sides narrative this should have been a difficult endeavour, where it will be stuck in a port for months on end, with mountains of documentation making this transaction very difficult. Ooooh nooo the end is nigh

I had some coconut milk with lunch from Sri Lanka.

It was so easy to buy - I just picked it up from a Sainsbury's shelf. This import/ export lark is a piece of !!!!.

  • A few pieces regarding the possibility of a Le Pen win in France:
If disillusioned French voters stay away from the poll booths, Marine Le Pen could be rubbing her hands in glee.

Daily polls by Ifop suggest as many as a third of young voters will vote for Marine Le Pen.

  • Since there remain suggestions the UK being anti-immigrant in these forums (not necessarily in here) here is a report from Austria where - so desperate are they that assylum-seekers leave their country - the ammount offered as an incentive to leave will be doubled!
Austria said on Wednesday it would double the amount of money paid to migrants who voluntarily return home, as part of a campaign to speed up the repatriation of around 50,000 asylum seekers.

Tbh and fwiw I thought French voters were more likely to stay at home when Fillon was in pole position - I think they will turn out for Macron.....

Ain't it great that we're leaving the EU so don't have to worry about asylum seekers, the rise of the right and German domination.
