Yes, those that signed the original monthly deal and are still within the contract term will still be on the monthly pricing. As probably the last person to get this deal, I will still be on the monthly price until July.

What happens when our 2 year contract reaches it's end?

There must be some people approaching this about now.

I would guess that we will be offered the current fixed monthly deal by Woldlink but with the option of going back into the market to get prices. Not looking forward to that!!

I'm not sure if even Woldlink know!

  • Year 2 increase capped at 3% per 6 months (so i.e max 31ppl in 12 months, then max 34ppl in 18 months)

Will be interesting to see if this is an actual cap, or a cap which if broken allows me to exit the contract.

Having read the T&C's, its clear that the price will go up uncapped -

    a) where the cost of supplying gas increases due to a an underlying increase in the cost of Gas, by an amount that reflects this; and/or
    b) by a maximum of 3 pence per litre in any given 6 month period to take account of increases in other costs (for example, transportation), changes in your consumption of gas or any other factors we consider relevant.

so the 3p increase will happen each 3 months, but there is also an unlimited increase if Gas prices go up...

Won't be signing that, back on the phone for a 2 year fixed.

As I asked before, Does anyone know of a longer than 2 year fix option (3-5 years)

    thanks
  • Dear HateLPG

I do not know whether this message will get to you or not. I have only just registered as a forum member, and I just wanted to thank you for your ANSI graph from Nov 16. Could you please let me know when you will have the February 17 figures available.

    With very kind regards

I cannot see any supplier providing you with anything more than a 2 year fix. Since the CC investigation into the LPG market, contracts longer than 2 years are not enforceable and therefore there is no reason that a supplier will provide you with a contract that they are bound by but they cannot enforce on you.

I thought I would just mention that I have called around a half dozen suppliers today (08FEB17) and been given the following offers for switching from Flogas (currently 45ppl). All offers were for a 2 year contract:

    Countrywide LPG
    Cost: £0.34ppl
    Offer: £150 Credit
    Tank yearly: £63

    Calour LPG
    Cost: £0.33ppl
    Offer: £250 Credit
    Tank yearly: £67

    Avanti LPG
    Cost: £28ppl (12month fix, 3p every 6 months after)
    Offer: £200 Credit
    Tank yearly: £66

Flowgas LPG (to stay with them)
    Cost: £0.4275ppl:eek:
    Offer: £0 Credit
    Tank yearly: £63

I just had a brilliant call with a guy at LPGSave who talked me through a tonne of stuff, market prices, average uk cost (42p), average uk usage (2300-2500 litres), consumer satisfaction. It was an free phone number 0800 436 100 and he didn't try to sell me a thing. Turns out at 3343 litres a year I'm a high consumption user.

*I'll edit Avantigas when they get back to me tomorrow.

I just called them, thanks for the reminder. Unfortunately they can't deal with people leaving Flogas (since Flogas are one of their...I want to say partners). A bit frustrating because I hear a lot of good things about them.
