    Been naughty today :( .....

Undid all the good work from walking 13.5k steps by having a McRib from Mcdonalds with fries, some pringles and a chocolate muffin

Drawing a big line under today and will do better tomorrow. Determined tomorrow's food choices will be good and will work extra hard in the gym. Lots of fat burning cardio me thinks.

Wednesday weigh in this week will not be good. I've been using up goodies around the house and it's my TOTM, but I shall persevere and not get disheartened! I will be awesome for next week's weigh in :D
  • Please can I join? I have been looking for some challenges and this sounds perfect as I started my diet on the 1st January :) I need some motivation as I really struggle to lose weight, no matter what I try. I'm good on a diet for the first few months and then lose interest when I've lost a pound. Does anyone else have this problem?

My starting weight is 153.4 - I'm aiming to lose a stone. At the moment I am trying the 5:2 diet, cutting out bread, rice etc in the evenings, reducing the amount of refined sugar I eat and couch to 5k.

I haven't got anything to add on the cross trainer, although I have owned an exercise bike previously which I really liked. You can get fold up ones, so they don't take up much space. I recommend the NHS Live Well website for those trying to be MSE. They have quite a good Strength and Flex programme.

I want a McRib SO BAD I COULD AND PROBABLY WILL CRY. But OH and I have agreed the 5th of each month will be our food treat day.. and the McRib won't exist then :(

Although we are having a mid month treat, as my Sister and her Hubby are over from CA for a week :) Not using it as an excuse to go full piggy on food, but there will be a family roast dinner and we're planning on taking them out for a meal one night. However, already picked the restaurant and picked my meal :o (Turkey honey mustard wrap, baby!)

Petition to have CW18 come and cook for us all? :A Soup sounds lovely! Only thing I have big enough to cook it in would be the slow cooker, can you make soup that way??

Kind of annoying about the potential waste with, HF! Will have to dig out our spare ice tray for the herbs, do the olive oil trick. I'm sure I'll figure out ways to use the rest, even if it's giving it away. Loathe putting food in the bin :o

Had the first Bootea last night, thanks Tete! Another one this morning, along with a juice made up from pineapple, melon, beetroot and spinach. Soup again for dinner, veggie stir fry with coconut shrimp for tea. Have almonds and dried apricots for my morning snack, and a juice will be this afternoons :) Looking forward to my daily reward of chocolate and another episode of Scandal!

As for exercise, squat challenge is complete, will go on the cross trainer/exercise bike for 30 minutes later on. Along with my daily walks with Ryder, but I really can't count these for exercise.

I've never even had one but I still want one now!! Dont stress about it, we're all going to have off days.

Have just put some weight watchers jelly in the fridge, hoping it might satisfy my need for a pudding after dinner tonight :o

I've either missed your starting weight (in which case I'm very sorry) or you haven't posted yet. Really wishing I could tag people right now!

Eek you need a starting weight?
Prefer not to give one, as I use the same forum name on other forums and I'm embarrassed about my weight.

I want to lose 10 stone (140 lb) and have currently lost 22½, so 117½ lb to go, although that's based on a pre-Christmas weigh in.

Threw chocolate away yesterday but did snaffle a stray mince pie:eek: Tried out a lunch that would make up part of my 5:2 regime and I think it would work.....so that is good:) I dont rush headlong into this sort of stuff,I prefer to build up slowly, cutting down gradually.OH bought new digital bathroom scales..........gave same weight as long trusty old fashioned ones:rotfl: but will calculate BMI and other stuff so old scales now in Oxf*m pile :)

I have heard of folks cooking vegetarian meals in a slow cooker (I only use mine for full chickens or gammon joints - really need to experiment more), so I don't see why it wouldn't work in there :)

I make soup in my slow cooker and it comes out fine.
My favourite at the moment is squash and red pepper soup.

1 butternut squash peeled, deseeded and cut into lumps
    1 red onion
    1 red pepper
    1 clove of garlic
1 chicken stock cube (could be veggie stock but I'm allergic to it)
Boiling water quantity depends on how runny you want it
Bit of freshly ground black pepper

All shoved in the slow cooker on high for half day cooking or low if it will be left on all day
When all the veg is soft I drain some of the liquid and blitz it, and re-add the liquid if it's too thick
To make it extra nice you can then stir in a spoonful of extra light Philidepelphia or cheaper supermarket alternative.

It freezes well and makes lovely filling lunches for at work.

I will make you feel better, I had a McRib on New Year's Day and they're not that good. Definitely not worth £2.79 for the sandwich alone!

I've got the 30 day abs, push ups and squat challenges on my iPad now. Only did Day 1 yesterday and my legs certainly feel different!

You'll have to give a review of BooTea, I want to try it (although probably shouldn't if I'm TTC). I'll just stick to my peppermint tea, which is great if you feel all bloated and sluggish. Started drinking it yesterday and I feel amazing :D
