Maybe because it's an out-and-out sports car. You could easily take a standard M3 and tune it up to the same performance level as the CSL, but it still wouldn't be worth as much.
Not so easy to lose 100+ kilos though, not to mention many different brake and suspension parts, and quicker gearchange etc etc
But, this thread is a poor attempt at a wind up.0 -
You pays your money and you makes your choice.
Wouldnt say either of those are "better". Particularly given it was probably an M3 CSL he wanted.
Of course you wouldn'tPLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -
I most certainly do.
I would of been impressed if he had come home with this;

But maybe this one is more realistic price wise;

Maybe he didn't want LHD, we could all post links of different cars.
You're comparing a rwd na rhd car to a 4wd rhd fi car, bit random.0 -
bottom line most of us are not petrol heads so the though of a performance car or such is something we simply would not go spend an obscene amount of money on, saying that I am sure we all have our weaknesses and gas (gadget aspiration syndrome) attacks for be it a Taylor Made driver, a Hassleblad camera,a posh spice handbag etc etcI am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.0

Erm no, I was pointing out to "Motorguy" that I do grasp the "notion when it comes to classic cars".PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -

I mean, I'm not even sure whether it has a radio inside. It's also annoyingly loud at start up and whilst driving. He let me test drive it today and although I was going slow (kept it at 30 mpg max), I could tell it was clearly an extremely powerful car and I admit, it did feel something quite special to drive...but still, £36,00 for a 11 year old car with absolutely NO luxury???!!!!!!! My VW Golf, which is 5 years newer is much more luxurious and comfortable to that ridiculous car.
Glad to know it holds its value and my son hasn't taken out a loan or got it on finance or any of that mumbo jumbo...thank god.its similar to any other sort of fashion accessions for eg why are "designer handbags" worth thousands when you can buy one for £10 from primark will still do the job or any other designer gear one could say unique, limited, great looking, top quality etc....
its really personal preference but being a car enthusiast i think it was a good choice if it makes him happy
No its not. Designer handbags don't go faster.0 -
I don't believe you.
Sorry meant 30 mph
Son took us out on a drive today and Mary, mother of God, its frighteningly fast :S, almost died from another heart attack! It can take turns my Golf can only dream of!
I now understand why its priced highly but personally would never spend that much on an older car.0 -

If you think that's fast - can you imagine the performance of the latest M3 or M4?0 -
