Shala 1 syn each? In just impatient and 7 mins for a jacket spud with mushy pea curry on for a quick tea is too easy ;)

I need to do the sw BBQ sauce and pulled pork (recipe please?!)

I plan in advance too sometimes but then life gets in the way and it all falls apart ;)

Only one syn! That's brilliant! Next time I see them on offer I'll get some for the freezer. I always assumed they had oil on them and they'd be loads of syns. Good standby for lunchtimes.

I'd like the pulled pork recipe too please shala.:)

I'd assumed they'd be loads of syns too.. definitely might get some as an emergency or pop some in the freezer at work.. :j

Pulled pork recipe - I've used this one before http://www.slimmingeats.com/blog/slow-cooker-pulled-pork#.U_m7jxt0w5s but it does have a lot of ingredients and you cook the pork in the sauce.

What I've done lately is cook the pork in the slow cooker with a dry rub.. so mix all the ingredients below, rub over the pork joint and pop in your slow cooker for a few hours (depends on the size of your joint) when it's done pull the pork apart with two forks so it shreds.

    Rub
    1 tbsp. brown sugar (syns?)
    1 tbsp. paprika
    2 tsp salt
    1 tsp black pepper
    1 tsp cayenne
    1/2 tsp mustard powder

and then use the SW BBQ recipe separately and pour it over the shredded pork, serve with wholemeal roll (heb) or on top of a jacket potato..

    BBQ Sauce
1 onion, diced and saut!ed (I use 1 tsp onion powder instead saves the bother)
    1 tsp mild chilli powder
    227ml passata
    2-3 tbsp. balsamic vinegar
    2 tbsp. sweetner
    1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
    1/4 tsp mustard powder

Put all the ingredients in a pan and simmer until thickened

I also add some liquid smoke that I bought off ebay to add that smokiness.

I think it's a really easy recipe to play with and change to your tastes, I try not to add too much vinegar as it's quite strong!!

Hope that's ok - i'm not very good at explaining recipes (or following them!!) :rotfl:

  • Sorry I have not been posting recently but not been in the mood.

DH has been and still is really ill, had lots of tests now Dr's believe it is lvf. Had to cancel our 2nd honeymoon as he is too ill to travel. I was so looking forward to going away. One of my big motivations.

Been struggling with the chocolate urge though I have been losing a lb or 2 each week.

will try and post when I can.
    Weight loss since 6/01/2014: 70lb
  • Quiet in here over the weekend....

Been really busy with some hardcore cleaning today. Washing walls and doors, cleaning the bathroom....

    Menu

B - Strawberry granola (home made)
    L - Fruit
D - Shepherd's pie with brocolli, peas, cabbage and mange tout.

Syns - 10.5 for breakfast (worth it!)
Guessing around 3 for the pie (husband made it and added butter to the mash) so 13.5.

Have been quite high on Syns recently, a trend I need to reverse. Weigh in tomorrow. Hoping for 2lb.

    Evening :)

Top Boy didn't get up until 10:00 today, when he woke me up as well. Result!

Spent a lovely lazy morning together brunching and watching some stuff on tv, then went to the park, library and shopping in the afternoon 👍

    On plan so far

Brunch: Bacon, egg, ww sausages, mushrooms, beans, tomatoes, a hash brown and HEXB toast.

Tea: SW savoury mince, asparagus, carrots and broccoli. Fruit and yogurt after.

3 syns, planning 2 on an options later as well.

    HEXA Milk
    HEXB Toast

BM walk and park and about to tackle about a fortnight's worth of ironing.

    Feeling good :)

    Thanks for the chart Annie.

Hugs outoffunds, I hope you get some answers soon and your hubby feels better.

I have been doing badly this week. Not fallen totally off the wagon, just not doing my best like I have been other weeks. Not calculating syns and let the odd bits and bobs sneak into my diet. Did a quick home WI though and it suggests I'm not going up so that can only be a miracle...

Cos I've just worked out what I've eaten today. Had half a croissant on the way over, fed the other half to the toddler - 5 syns. Meal at my parents as is standard for a Sunday. Had a bit of butter on my potatoes and veg so that's probably another 5 syns (low fat butter at least), but checking stuff out found that the glass of shloer I have every week is 6, and the filo thing they served up is 22

[Thank goodness I said no to the cheesecake for pudding!]

Gonna have to tell my mum I'm on SW and take over a wedge of boxed quorn products so I know I'm not going to go twice over my syns in just one meal :(

Lioness I am with you have been doing housework all day today and since I got up at 7am this is the first time I have sat down, except for breakfast, lunch and dinner lol. Loads of BM is all I keep thinking.:j

Feeling loads better today and had a good nights sleep last night but will have another early night tonight to be ready for work on Monday.

Slightly off plan today but am just going off to plan next week which I will stick to 100% I promise!
