Did anybody listen to Nigel Farage being interviewed by Victoria Derbyshire last Friday on 5live?
I must say I agreed with a lot of what he was saying and I thought shame on the bbc for the way the interview was conducted.

For example Victoria mentioned that Nigel had voted against increasing MEPs pay from 66K to 81K and then lambasted him for having accepted the enormous rise that the rest of the MEPs had voted for. To his credit he said that he'd spent the extra money traveling the country campainging. I believe him.

She then went on to argue the toss about wether the net cost of Britian being in the EU was £7 billion per year as she said or £8.2billion per year as Nigel said.

He wanted to talk about the 'big picture' while she wanted to bog him down in the minutae of the cost of an institution who haven't had their accounts signed off for about 10 years

I will vote UKIP next time.

I listened to it while driving so missed bits but it was very interesting.

I can see why people would vote for 'him' even if I wouldn't. He's very plausible and tries to keep things on a level that people can identify with.

There was also the stuff about how they need to mature as a party that I found interesting.

I agree though OP, I thought the attempts to drag the interview from big picture stuff into arcanery was pretty pointless. Ms D isn't a very good political interviewer IMHO. Much better at talking to normal people.

    It's available on a Podcast here;

The recent smear campaign against UKIP seems to have gone very quiet now that it has all turned out to be hot air.

Interesting news on Labour though, what with the vote rigging and all.......

What smear campaign? You mean fact finding mission?

The bad smell out of UKIP keeps coming though.

I recently posted some detailed response to some of your previous abusive posts. One of which for example was regarding Alex Wood, the UKIP candidate who you like to claim was giving the Nazi salute.

There was clear evidence that this was not the case, and Police evidence also showed that alleged racist comments on his facebook page were, in fact made on a spoof facebook page by someone else.

You made no response to this, choosing to totally ignore it.

There is a clear pattern in how you post.

You lie. That lie is refuted. Then you post something else. i.e; when you are proven wrong, you try and leave the thread alone, hoping that it will disappear. It's a waste of time responding to you.

Ok Sampy. Time to put up or shut up.

You believe he doesn't claim travel expenses?

We would save more by giving Northern Ireland back to the Irish.

The Police having insufficient evidence to prosecute for a crime in no way proves that a person is innocent of being racist.

Here's what his UKIP colleagues have to say about him......
A former friend of Mr Wood’s at Yeovil college, who did not wish to be named, said: “Alex was very outspoken and radical – his opinions were very right-wing.

"I remember him using the Nazi salute.”

And UKIP activist Gabi Coleman, from Kent, said Mr Wood’s views were “widely known” in the party.

She wrote on Facebook: “There are others but we all keep quiet about it... at least until the election is over. We have a ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ policy.

Yourself and Hamish posted links, quotes and photos related to that news story over and over again. Here is just one example...yadda yadda...

Ok, so you couldn't find any post where I said Alex Wood was giving the nazi salute. Thanks for clearing that up.

Alex Wood, exposed by the Daily Mirror for delivering the fascist gesture, pleaded his innocence with far-fetched excuses for his action.

He insisted he was “reaching for a friend’s phone” after she took a photo of him “pretending to eat a houseplant”.

In another image we printed, UKIP’s candidate for Blackmore Vale, Somerset, snarled as he clasped a knife between his teeth with a Union flag backdrop.

His excuse for this was that he had attended a party – “dressed as a pirate”.

Eating a houseplant!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
