You will need a Freeview HD box to receive RTE http://www.digitaluk.co.uk/when_do_i_switch/northernireland/northern_ireland_info0
-
In addition to having an HD box you need to be aware that the transmissions will be subject to broadcast rights. For example, if you want to watch a football match that is available on RTE in the south, it doesn't necessarily follow that it will be available on the NI Mux. Under those circumstances I assume all we will get is a stationary page.0

rexel - a Saorview box will get the same channels when connected to the same aerial, and be blocked at the same time.0

Headabovewater - I think, only think now, that I may have found a solution to our problem!! :j:j
I found this little snippet of information on a website, tried it out and hey presto it appears to have worked for me!!
"Ok, turn the TV on. Then press and hold the MENU button on the TV (not the remote) for 5-7 seconds. The TV will reset to 'out of the box' state. You can then scan for channels again as if the TV was new and they will be retained by the TV's memory".
I put my tv onto standby and put it back on again an BBC 1 etc was there!!
I even turned the tv off at the electrical socket two or three times, thinking it probably want hold after the first time being turned off - but to my surprise it has!!
So hopefully it will work for you to!!
Let me know how you get on!
Cheers :beer:0 -

Is anyone picking up saorview in Belfast bt9 , bt100
-
I am in BT66 and noticed the following this morning.
If you were picking up RTE etc from Claremont Carn transmitter formerly on channel 53, it has moved to channel 52.
My Humax box picked up all the rte / tv3 channels this morning on C52 up until lunchtime today, but they have since disappeared. I wasn't expecting to get them as I have a loft aerial. Just a bit odd that I could get them at all.
I can of course get the RTE mux on channel 39 but I must say its a bit of a low signal compared to the others. All the others are showing a signal level of 80%, whereas channel 39 is only 36%. Picture is okay though as the signal quality is 100%.0 -
I've had my neighbor knock on my door today as his TV's stopped working, turns out he doesn't have a freeview box,so I told him the's nothing I can do & he needs to buy one.
Ten minutes later he was back,TV still didn't work even tho he's tried retuning it.....
