I'm heading to Vegas end of Sept so are looking at getting some xmas presents out there in the outlets, I hear Primm is good for Hollister and a few other brands my sons like, is it worth the bus fare to go into Primm? I am staying at the Vdara so would need to get to MGM Grand I think it is to catch the bus.

Anyone been sucessfull getting a complimemtary room upgrade at the tropicana? How did you go about it?

I got us a big suite at the Trop in June last year... Although booked the room with Netflights.com, i did a bit of "friendly" emails with the guest manager ;) maybe she liked cheeky british chaps?! haha ! :D

So yeah, paid for a std room, got suite on 19th floor in paradise tower...
Guess u could always try the $20 sarnie ? not sure if that works mind!

On the note of vegas, were going back next year, wooohooooo !!!! :):) May 25th for 1 week.....
Heres the deal though, challenge i set is: Max £620 each for flight (1-stop most likely) + hotel on strip, and not Strat end either!
Given i did last years for £1k each and that was for 3 destinations over 2 1/2 weeks, i hope to do this one!

If it helps, my trip report from last year ft. the Trop :)

I went to primm specifically to go to the hollister outlet, didnt buy anything but got good deals on hollister at the hollister shop in town square, one example was a pair of sweat pants for $10 ish.

I think there is a hollister store in the fashion show mall so i would head there first if i was you
    EDIT
fashionshowmall directory, there is a hollister they always have sales on and they are much cheaper than the UK to start with

Not sure HOW it's going to work in places like the O2 or MEN as they are a tad bigger than the Flamingo showroom ! ;)

Haha! I got the pre-sale email from ticketmaster and asked the hubby...he scoffed at the mere idea given his previous experience...I like to think it was a 'I could never top last time' scoff...but it may have been more of a 'you still haven't compensated me for last time' scoff. :)

Hi all. I wrote this on a seperate thread but I was directed to this thread, so I hope it's ok with everyone.I'm going to Vegas next week and would love some tips on where to go. Maybe some ideas which are not too commercial. I'm interested in playing in some poker tournaments so would love some info on where and when to go.

I'd also love to know what pools I can use in Vegas. Do you have to be a resident of a hotel to use their specific pool or can anyone go in and use them, and do you have to pay?

I've already got places to possibly go and eat but if anyone has some brilliant places to go then they would be most welcome.

    Thanks in advance.Josh

This is a good resource..it has an icon to show which pools are open to the public, and if you find one you are interested in, click on it and it will tell you what the fee is to enter if not a hotel guest.

    http://www.lasvegasadvisor.com/coolpools.cfm

It used to be that non guests could not officially access most hotel pools but that's changed a lot though most there will be a fee if you are not a guest.

Have you read the info on page 1 of this thread?

If you have a car, I recommend Weera Thai on Sahara. Awesome Thai food at very reasonable prices.

Just finishing a 4 night stay at the Wynn Hotel and thought a short report might be helpful.

Arrived by Taxi from the airport car rental return - cost $22. First impression of the Wynn is that it is amazing both in scale and in the quality of presentation. Second impression was not so good - a 30 minute wait in line to check in. Not very 5 star given the hotel know how busy they are going to be and should be increasing staff levels.

A note on staff - they are extremely polite, helpful and happy - even the room maids.

The gaming floor is huge but as a non smoker was not happy that smoking is freely allowed.

The hotel has a vast number of restaurants and I would say these are expensive compared to other hotels and restaurants on or just off the strip.

We were on a virgin package and were offered the chance to pay a resort fee that would give us use of the gym and wifi. Unbelievable that one is expected to pay for wifi. We had previously stayed in 8 hotels on this trip including one in New York - this was the first place where wifi was not free. We did discover that free wifi was available by the Wynn Pool if sitting close to the towel person.

The rooms at the Wynn are fantastic - really 5 star. However be careful about the mini bar and the snack tray as they are pressure sensitive and you will be charged if you move anything. We bought beer and wine outside and chilled it using the ice bucket and free ice.

Our biggest gripe about the hotel was the very very loud disco that often goes on until 5.00am. Two of our party had rooms on the golf course side on the 35th floor and could not sleep due to the disco. We were on the strip side and had no issues. This was a huge issue - the hotel gave my sister a $200 bar credit because of the noise. You would not expect an issue like this in a 5 star hotel - even in Vegas.

Overall a very nice hotel despite the issues mentioned.
