Have you tried Carhire3000(now called rentalcars I think) or netflights..links are on the first page

There shouldnt be a one way drop charge between Nevada and California but you do need to confirm that

Yes the nightclub noise is a well known issue at Wynn/Encore.

The first time we stayed there I asked for a quiet room away from the noise. We were allocated a room on the 63rd floor at the far end of the corridor facing north. Quiet wasn't the word.

The next time I just asked for a room facing south and wasn't bothered about quiet. We got a room on the 30th floor and didn't hear a thing.

Seriously considering changing our 3 night Rio reservation ($31 per night) to the Wynn ($129 per night) - we will also get a $50 resort credit at Wynn for staying 3 nights.

Shame to give up the good rate at Rio, but we've stayed there before and would love to try Wynn. Having trouble deciding, and then I read the stuff on here today :(

Would be good to have a few nights on the strip, although we will have a car these days and will be out and about quite a bit, so maybe not the best opportunity to enjoy...??

Luci - any thoughts? I'm wondering what your opinion is of us going from Wynn to Carriage House on the 7th. Is this going to be a bit depressing? We should get a renovated room at CH, so shouldn't be too painful?

That is quite a jump in cost going from $93 to almost $400 plus there is a resort fee at the Wynn of $25 a night.

I did look at a renovated room at the Carriage House for you and took a couple of photos which I will post in a minute.

We once moved from the Encore to Bally's and I was initially disappointed with the room as it was such as come down, but that only lasted 30 minutes or so then I was fine with it. We had stayed at Bally's before so knew what we were going to.

I don't think changing from the Wynn to the Carriage House will be as big a contrast.

Off to look for the pics now.

Lesley, if you are going for a one bedroom suite, I would suggest asking for one with a kitchenette and full bathroom rather than full kitchen and shower room. Although the units in the shower room have been replaced, the tiling is still the old drab brown. The only think missing with a kitchenette is that it won't have an oven.

I did rotate that photo of the shower room, but it has gone back to the default.

Looks really good. Thanks very much for posting the pics of Carriage House. Advice on room type noted :)

Yes, it's a big difference in cost compared to Rio. It comes out at $434 plus resort fee I think. There's a $50 resort credit per stay of 3 nights or more. As much as it's tempting to keep the cheap deal with no resort fee at Rio, I'm still tempted to try Wynn, or even Encore (I can get Encore at the same price on this deal). I'm thinking $129 per night then a resort credit is about the best I've ever seen Wynn or Encore.

    Decisions...decisions...

When we stayed at the Wynn last year, we had a room on the 35th floor and we could hear the nightclub music.
A lady who we got talking to in the lift said that she was on the 37th and could hear it, so complained about it.
They told her that wearing earplugs would help drown the noise out. She wasn't a happy bunny.
While we were a little bit miffed by the nightclub noise, we were more offended by all the rather rude college students who hit Vegas one weekend and took over our floor with a rather loud party. It got stopped within an hour of it starting because someone called security and they came up and put an end to it. Apart from that, we loved it at the Wynn. It's been the best hotel we've stayed in up to now.
