Aesop, don't feel bad about taking your stuff to the CS. Think about all the gifts you are giving them. Letting go of this stuff is being good to yourself, and good to others. Win-win!

Crickett - I think this is a nice way to close that chapter of your life. You're going in looking great, feeling great. I bet all your colleagues will be jealous, particularly if anyone else is suffering from the same treatment you got. It's quality, not quantity that counts - a smaller party of nice people can be much more fun than a bigger one. Wishing you a good time.

Marru - wow, great news. Sending you some seriously good vibes for later. I hope this job is your heart's desire and that the interviews both go well.

And thinking of Groatie of course!!!! :j

Good luck with the move Groatie, hope it all goes well x

Crickett - have a lovely leaving do, accept all the presents and flowers with grace, and then think 'thank goodness I don't have to work with that bunch of flopwits ever again" :)

I'm having a lovely birthday today, DD had a friend for a sleepover and I had OH here, and so the kids came in and jumped all over us and gave us hugs. Home baked (from the can) pains au chocolat for brekkie, nomnom......our new tradition for birthdays is pain au chocolat and apple juice :)
  • Happy Birthday Kittikins Have a great day

And I have seen from her blog that it is Cheery Daffs birthday today too so Best wishes Cheery (we don't see you on here often these days)

Afternoon peeps - sending positive vibes to all in need (good luck with the interviews Marru). Marru - please can you PM me the details of your lovely removal man, it might be easier to hire a proper person than try and shift stuff myself and hire a van.

Am most miffed - I visited Mr Black Horse today as I wanted to open a savings account but I do not have an current photo ID and apparently the law says that I cannot open an account anywhere without such things. I did discover that my old business account with them is still live (seems the co-op never closed it when they did their transferring of my direct debits etc) so the female cashier suggested that I pay the cheque into that account and withdraw the cash but I still wouldnt be able to have a savings account with them. One wonders if they treat all shareholders and business account holders this way - it also seems that my parents have banked with them for over 50 years and this still doesnt count for anything. I want to try and build up a savings account with a bank or building society with a view to eventually having a current account with them - I am wondering if this is possible?

I had to go to Aldi today to see if they still had any digital scales left but they hadnt - mum told me last night that hers had died:( I went to Wilko to see what they had but they didnt have anything other than Mr Worrall's and I know mum won't pay over £13 but then I remembered that I have the same set which I have used once - I prefer to use my measuring jug which has cup measurements on it. So mum is going to get my old scales which still work.

I am starting to sort out my junk seening as I could be moving next month:j

Happy birthday Kittikins and Cheery Daff!!

Hope you both have very happy birthday years, with lots of good and exciting things in them :)

FW - forgot to say well done and hope you're home now resting and having a lovely relaxing long weekend off.

I have got 2 submissions submitted today - including one for India internship. It's an informal pre-application so fingers crossed they like it :)

My Mum allway's used a prayer/spell thing that seem's to work to the patron saint of lost thing's, goes like this:-

St Antony,St Antony, return what dose not belong to thee.

Daft I know but what have you got to lose, and remember to say thank you when it turn's up.hth

I say "Tony, Tony please come round, there's something lost that must be found"
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

Birthday greetings to Cheery Daff and Kittikins:beer:

When I lose something - I always ask the house fairy to return it - she usually does when I stop looking for the thing I have lost and start looking for something else.
