MG - The Matrix Re-wired

Mornin peeps. The 'meh' weather is making us all a bit 'meh'. I am hoping that it might get the SE out of drought though - we still have a hosepipe ban currently on!
Recession news not great. Hopefully it will just be a quarter's worth of shrinkage. Commentators say most of the cuts still to come though, which is sad. Well here's to thrift and frugality, at least we have all been making the very most of our pennies for years. The kinds of skills that come with living carefully are wonderfully freeing and positive, as MG shows so often. I always think about what other things go into a jar full of this and that which appear on the blog - care, skill, independence, creativity, accomplishment.
Lots of work on at the moment, and I'm trucking through it as best I can. It's not a great quality at the moment - here's hoping it can all be upgraded before deadlines in May!:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
Good Morning Matrix. I cannot believe I feel so different than I did yesterday! I felt so sluggish and tired and generally icky. And yet, today, I have lots of energy, feel like my creative juices are flowing, and really feel like getting on with stuff.
Last night I had a chat with my hubby about how I was feeling, and as I was talking to him, I suddenly realised that I felt like I was really missing out on the opportunity this break from work has offered me. I need to grab it with both hands and really make the most of it. So, last night, I ventured into my craft room, did quite a bit of tidying up and sorting out, and then made it into a space where I am going to be able to work at my creative things. My laptop is set up (and I am typing from my craft room!) and my morning commute was walking the dog and doing 45 minutes of housework. My house looks tidy, I am at base camp on the assault on Mount Washmore, my kitchen is clean and shiny, and I have even managed to hoover and dust and polish the lounge! That job has been on my list for 4 weeks and I hadn't got round to it!
I also got dressed like I would if I was going to have a day in the office without seeing any clients. I am smartly dressed, but casually dressed. I had my shoes on when I was cleaning, but I have taken them off for my creative stuff. I don't know why, but I feel more creative without my shoes on!
So my plan for today is to take the time and to dream big. And take the dog out for walks and make dinner and go to my counselling appointment! But I can do that, because things are flexible!Yay!

Hi MG - I am getting on really well. Done a bit of planning, a bit of dreaming and a lot of getting things organised. Also made and ate lunch and I am about to go and put the kettle on for a cup of tea and coffee for some friends who are dropping around! Yay!
Thank Goodness I did the cleaning this morning!

Afternoon ladies.
I made a mistake and turned up to an appointment a day early today:o Still I had to wait a while but then the person who was due to be seen today didnt turn up so I had their appointment. R*mploy are great and have noted all my disabilities even though when I apply for jobs I only mention the major ones to do with my eyes. I have to see someone each week and make a commitment to spending 8hrs a week looking for work. They will help me when I get a job too. They work with a variety of companies and are currently in talks with Messrs M and S because they are looking to possibly take on some disabled staff it would mean that I would get to work there for a short while spending time in each department and there may be the opportunity of a job at the end of it:j
As I was in town I was going to go to the court but will leave that until next week because I didnt think they would appreciate a visit over the lunch break. I walked back to the bus stop via the Viennese Patisserie where greedy guts purchased a quiche for her lunch and the biggest strawberry tart you have ever seen (suitable for one person) - I can say that they were very yummy indeed:D I jumped on the 61 bus (I can get off at a different stop and walk home as it does not go past my door) and who should be driving it but my first love - alas he is still very much unhappily married but he is too gutless to get a divorce. He was telling me today how he should have married me instead of her (her being my former best friend), I said he had made his choice and that if he wanted to leave then there was nothing stopping him as all his kids are grown up. I think he expects me to hang around for him - I won't, I am my own person and do my own thing.:D
My cheque has arrived from the auctioneers - £288.78:j and I will use this money to open a savings account with Mr Black Horse as eventually I plan to switch my current account to them.
Oh I have house news too - the agents rang my mum yesterday to say that the vendors have now signed the contract and have sent the papers to mum's solicitors. They remarked that they wanted to proceed quickly now but mum is going to make them wait because she won't sign anything until her solicitor is in receipt of all the documents he has asked for - only then will she sign. She has asked to visit the house again to do some measuring up but the agents are not too pleased about that - heck we need to measure for new windows. Plus we want to be sure they have cleared the house of the furniture that isnt staying plus the bath aid has been removed and returned to the council and that the bath isnt damaged.
It is too wet..did feel a bit daft going out wearing my ocean going waterproof (suitable for storm conditions at sea) but it kept me warm and dry.0 -
emotionally and physically knackered.
not had good week at work, a bully that has never been dealt with reduced two of us to tears this week and we both just wanted to go home, that is how bad it was.
my in laws coming tomorrow, house is a disaster area as not have the heart to do anything ,but have no choice now. must clean uup!
have nowhere to hide stuff though! would normally hide in my wardrobe but last time they were here, they went in my wardrobe for hangers  not letting them see that disaster area again!

Awww Aesop ((((((((hugs)))))) - it is time to raise a formal grievance about the bully, the two of you whom he/she reduced to tears should both submit one as two carries more weight than one IFSWIM?.
Rats to the housework and hiding stuff - leave it in plain sight and just flick a duster around saying that you haven't had time to do it. If they can't put up with a bit of untidyness then that's their problem.0 -
Thank you Horace
the Director has already agreed to give them a disciplinary warning, which is going on record, as they shouted at a Director too, who complained too.
unfortunately the mess in my house, means they cannot sleep in the bedroom or eat at the dinner table, so need to shift my derriere and get it tidy. Doesn't help they are all OCD about their places, ie, you are scared to walk anyway, sit anyway, put anything down anywhere!
as someone said to me today, my house is a home not a house!

I had a friend who was OCD about her house - there wasnt a nicknack anywhere and you had to take your shoes off before you went into the house as she didnt want people to walk on the carpets (I think we were expected to levitate across them). Her house had zero personality and was just like a show house - I am the opposite (although admittedly I am untidy due to flat living and no storage anywhere) - I like to see nicknacks about the place and books and stuff.
Good luck with the tidying Aesop and thank goodness a warning is going on the bully's file.0 -
Grrrr!!! DS1's laptop is now doing the black screeny thing and won't boot up. I know it was only a second hand cheapy for Christmas - but I had hoped for more than four months with it.
Raise a complaint hon - you know it is the right thing to do...... and take it easy with the flick through - a lot can be accomplished in 15 minutes so be kind to yourself.
