Hi
I have just started comping again and am wondering how best to start.
Do people feel that it is worth the cost of doing text and postal comps as even postal comps are relatively expensive to enter with the recent rise in the cost of stamps (again!).
I suppose if there are much fewer entrants it would be worth it.
Does anyone know the stats on this sort of thing?
Do people feel that they get significantly more wins from any particular route of entry?
Sorry if these things have been asked before.
Thanks
Angela.
Hi Angela :hello:
The Discussions Thread gets more traffic than this one, (this is primarly for people to put extra ideas on for possible inclusion in the Guide)
I am still majorly catching up after getting very behind so although a while ago, I used to enter postals I haven't for quite some time! I will make that call when I am fully caught up on all the comps here & I have time to look up & breath
Try you post again here -> Discussions Thread
You will hopefully get a lot more responses than you will from your post on here, which will help you to make up your mind.
Welcome back to Comping!Sad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out0 -
Good idea
Will do that.
When I did comping as a hobby previously I thought it best to have a system to follow.
This helped me to do a reasonable amount of comps within the timescale that I decided to allow myself with work / family etc.
I was reasonably successful and got some decent wins.
The tips I would give people are -
a. to have a system and
b. to not try to 'catch up' if you miss a day of your routine, just let it go.
I was only 'small fry' in comping stakes but found these basic rules worked for me.
Thanks very much for the advice.
This is a great forum by the way!

Hi
I have made a post that the editor of the magazine did not like.
I have removed the post now but please could you add the mag to the list of publications that do not like their comps posted.
This one is 'The Bay' a free local mag distributed around the Swansea area.
Thanks0
