Also are WEM's obvious? Does it usualy say in the title - congratulations or comp winner? I get so much spam in my account and sometimes they have no subject - should I be checking all? A lot of the emails are obviously SPAM as you can tell by the email addresses.
Thanks
i use a payg mobile i have especially for comping. that way any spam sms texts or calls go to it and i can block the text number if necessary. my normal mobile and my landline i dont give out
wems can sometimes be obvious, but ive ahd one or two that i would have missed had i not opened the email. i go through and delete anything with newsletter in title without reading it, as well as anything that ive got more than once as thats deff not a wem :rotfl: then i tend to have a quick glance at each email before deleting. i do have a rule set up in outlook that any email containaing the word winner or congrats etc go to a separate folder but 9 out of 10 of those end up being we have contacted the winners rather than i have won :rotfl:0 -

A lot of comps sites now actually prefer mobile numbers, I usually give my land line number as I am at home all day, and it is registered with the TPS to stop unwanted calls
probably the best way is to have a mobile phone which is just used for comping
If you are using Thunderbird you can use Quick Filters just type in congratulations or winner in the box and select subject or body to instantly filter the emails, if you want to search in different folders select the quick filter pin in the right hand corner so that the filters stick
the filters can easily be switched on and off with just a click

Sad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out0 -
:oI'm sorry if this is a little 'off topic' but could you advise me on whether it is worth entering all the daily Now, Look, Pick Me Ups, What's on tv, etc comps on the Dailies board?
Does anyone actually win them and what are the odds of winning? They just take a while to enter after ticking all the 'No'/'Not Interested' boxes.
I just don't want to be wasting my time...I enter most of the comps on the main board.
Thanks x

Morning Tracy :hello:
There have been quite a few winners for the comps that you mention, take a look in the I Won I Won subforum to seeBut on the other hand there are many hundreds of people (sometimes thousands if you look wider than just our little comping corner of the 'net) who enter those comps that don't win!
I'm fairly selective on the daily comps that I enter, for either the things that would be useful to me or to family (possibly as presents!) That way I find it stays manageable for me & doesn't overload. Although I always find the daily comps leading up to Christmas send me into overdrive :rotfl:
I'm not sure any of us would know odds of winning, but as they say 'you have to be in it to win it'
I really suggest that you post this question in the Discussion Thread (which is also pinned towards the top of page 1) as that thread receives a lot more foot traffic & more people would be able to better answer you
Happy Comping!Sad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out0 -
 Thanks for the advice - yes I could imagine the run up to Christmas was manic! I've read about the Advent comps etc - bet you were up half the night! Lol!
Yes, I only tend to enter for what I would like to win - as you are right - you could spend hours entering for whatever.
I have posted on the other discussion threads. I never seem to know which thread to post on - The Compers Inn, Coms discussion, etc???? Confusing!:p
Thanks again - you must be an early bird like me! I usually get up early, do the dailies, then later in the evening, I visit the main comp board x0 -
You're welcome
Just to give you an idea of where to post things:
Comping Guide - if there is something not in the Guide (or wrong) that may be useful to others to know then post it hear as I have the thread set to send me a notification when someone posts (some members pm me as they prefer to do that rather than on the thread)
Compers Inn - Chat about anything and everything in this thread - doesn't even usually involve comping! (I see this more as a relax & chat place)
Discussions thread - The place to ask questions or have discussions around comps.
Hope this makes it a bit clearerI don't even know why I'm up this early... I must be mad as I am tired but couldn't sleep any more
perhaps I knew you were going to post so I got up to reply
Sad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out0 -
Ahhhh Bless you! Well I posted on the Comper Inn and no reply - seem there is a lot of bickering going on there. People need to chill a bit more and not take comping so seriously! I thought they were all rude to not even acknowledge my post!

:oThanks - I'm not the most confident of people so I'll stay away from that thread! I'll post here where it is not so scary! xxx:A:A0
