I would like to see all fuel suppliers to immediately cap their pre-payment (quantum) prices to no more than 5% above the cheapest tariff. Why should we on tight budgets be treated hardest, they get paid in advance.Long time MSE member… just sitting in silence in the background. Make money on the move. Stop Banks, Companies, Suppliers etc passing on whole supply costs increases, but only partly when prices decrease.
eg Mortgages go up the whole of base rate increases, but only reduce a fraction of any base rates drop. Similarly for energy suppliers etc. Just profiteering.
Should be legal that if company increases charges to follow supply costs 100% within x days, then should have to pass on the same % and timescale when it drops again.0 -
Booking fees of around £3.50 - £5.00 for each ticket are added to the cost of advertised event tickets. They bear no resemblance to the cost incurred and apply regardless of payment method or delivery method. Also, they are not optional and should be included in original advertised price.0

Parking legislation and enforcement now comes under the remit of the local authority. This is a conflict of interest where the same body creates, sanctions, enforces and collects fines for 'alleged' parking offences. It results in deliberately inappropriate, ambiguous, and unlawful legislation and enforcement all done to the financial benefit of the local authority. It should be monitored by an independent body with no agenda.0

There should be legislation to regulate the price of domestic LPG gas .
The prices charged are enormously varied and extortionate.
Having to be tied into a 2 year contract enables the supplier to progressively increase prices every few months.
All suppliers should have to openly declare their price per litre.0 -
Energy firms should have to charge customers HIGHER unit prices the more energy they consume not LESS, as is currently the case. The current policy complete negates the need to be more energy efficient.0

Set up WiMax systems in all significant conurbations. Each person on the Electoral Register in that area can then be given a small monthly usage allowance (eg. 2GB) so that everyone has access to at least a rudimentary internet service (visiting Government websites would be exempt from usage).0

If you want to transfer an account from Bank A to Bank B it should simply be a case of the MANAGEMENT of the account number (including sort code) switching from A to B - just like porting a mobile phone number or broadband service from one provider to another.0

Like a driving licence, a drinking licence would allow you to purchase/consume alcohol. Anti-social behaviour, etc due to alcohol would see points put on it leading to its eventual loss - NO MORE ALCOHOL! Alcohol abuse solved.
Am I a genius or what? 8-)0 -
Non-urgent energy devices that inform the grid when they need power (eg. kettle, fridge) so grid can regulate demand more effectively (avoid brown-outs/black-outs) by informing appliance when there is/isn't sufficient supply.0
