Freaky dream #132

Dreamt I was on a stag do and Shane out of Westlife was the stag. I was talking to one of the other member of the group about how to get his wife PG, e.g ovulation signs, taking temperature, using OV kits. then I had to go as it was getting to 'boys' time so I left but couldn't find my way out of the bar. Oh and I was on roller skates - !!!!!!...!!!!
I'm not even a Westlife fan!

What is the sketch with bank holidays and mat leave? My mum says that all the bank holidays that I miss while off on mat leave should be tagged onto my leave, i.e if I miss 6 bank holidays then I have 6 extra days of leave to take when I return? I accrue 25 days while I'm on mat leave and miss 6 bank holidays so do I have 31 days to play with when I get back?

I work for the NHS if that helps?

Last time I just got paid my normal day rate for bank holidays rather than stat mat pay, just meant a bit of extra money on the months that bank hols fell in. Not sure if its different for nhs though.

Well I'm feeling carp today. Since being upset on Monday I've had really bad braxton hicks, they woke me up yesterday at 5am and I had them on and off all day. I was really worried that OH had sent me into early labour as I was feeling really sick and got a bad back but they went off. This morning I still feel sick and have a painful back but nothing else. Bubs is ok though, doing plenty of moving about, he managed to get himself right up under the right side of my ribs in the night and it did look extremely odd this morning, like a hard football under my boob!

Last night I felt extremely angry at OH and could of happily punched him in his smug face (I didn't BTW). Today I don't know how I feel, it's weird mixture of all sorts of feelings. But I'm determined for this not to drag me down into a depressive episode.
If I felt a bit better physically I would get my sewing machine out and make myself something gorgeous but I can't even lift the thing!

Gonna have a proper read back now x

My fat tummy is getting a bit firmer too I got a size smaller in maternity trousers so they are fitting ok at the mo. I got other maternity trousers when I was pregnant wiht DD and they are really comfy but they just wont stay up just now. I lost nearly 4 stone this time last year so I am in the jeans that I was wearing then, they are a bit big still but comfier than my normal jeans, and it saved me pennies having to buy maternity jeans!

Right away to meet friends at my Wednesday group so better get my skates on.

Im feeling ok today thanks. I have to stop feeling sorry for myself as things are all happening and I cant change them now, so looking forward to finally getting settled in and getting my xmas decs up.

I was thinking about the royal weddinng too. My due date is the 28th so I could very well be in on the 29th. Hopefully any midwives on duty wont give a toss about it.

Re the royal wedding, I wouldn't worry. It will be business as usual for the NHS and those who are on duty will get a lieu day to take for the bank holiday. I would imagine the duty rota will take into account those who are desperate to have the day off (eg. like they do for new year and Christmas) but other than that they will be staffed up and should be no problems.

Is anyone due Christmas day? I think the Royal Mint do a special edition silver coin free for babies born on the day (you have to prove it) if anyone's interested I can dig out the magazine I read it in and repost details.

Hello everyone, just thought I'd update while I had a minute. On 12th November I became a Mummy to baby Benjamin who arrived 12 days early but is beautiful and perfect in every way. It was a hard slog to get him here and worth every second of it.

I'll be honest... I don't particularly want any visitors whilst i'm in there! I know that's probably quite harsh but apart from my kids I just wish everyone else would just stay away and let me look like poop in private!
