An Off Peak Day Return Leeds to Sheffield is £8.80.

An off peak day return from Huntingdon to Finsbury Park is £19 and a zone 1-2 travelcard is I think £5.60. You need to switch to the travelcard at Finsbury Park as the fare to Kings Cross is higher and the travelcard the same price.
Huntingdon station MAY be able to sell you the travelcard but it's just as easy to switch to the tube at FP buying it there. Coming back it won't matter.
Cambridge to Finsbury Park is the same price
Edit - but Keith's found a better price though for a slower journey0 -

Not sure of your dates. I went on https://www.eastcoast.co.uk and picked the 16th June and could see one ticket for £54 (single). Usual advice about railcards applies if you qualify for one.
Splitting at Birmingham New Street or Preston may help.
£140.50 is the walk-up return fare.0 -
I need a cheap single ticket from Preston to Oxford on the 28th May one way but I can only find 1st class at £61. Anyone know of any cheaper or how I can get a cheaper one?
Thanks in advance.0 -

Dep Preston 04:09, 05:30, 06:00.
Info from East Coast Trains.
ps. The £61 ticket is an Anytime Single, Standard class.
Edited to add:
Splitting at Tamworth can reduce that fare significantly...
Dep Preston 05:30, arr Tamworth 06:46. Advance Single = £8.00.
Dep Tamworth 07:09, arr Oxford 08:40. Advance Single = £13.00.
Total = £21.00.0 -
Hi,
I'm travelling to Wembley on the 19th of June to see the Green Day gig. I'm travelling from Southampton and have been looking at train tickets.
I can get a Megabus for £8 which does the job, but it's coming back that's the issue. The single return in the early hours of the morning is costing £31.70!!! Which is more than a return (£30.80).
I've managed to find out that a Waterloo to Woking and then Woking to Southampton ticket is slightly cheaper, but still doesn't make it worth getting the Megabus up there.
Any one got any tips/codes etc, that may help, otherwise I might just have to bit the bullet and get the return.
Thanks,
Simon.
P.S. The Travelcard option makes the return ticket £34.80, is that worth getting over using my Oyster card?0
