  • Well-not lost any more but its the "wrong week " for losing so Im not in a panic. To be honest I feel very calm and have not got my usual agitation over the weight. I joined the gym yestday, then went for a swim last night and did 30 lenths then went to the gym today(I only did 16 mins that is my programme).
Possibly Im turning the fat to muscle though. To be fair my body will soon sort itself out if I keep up my new way of life so I shall weigh on Saturday then put the scales out of sight for a week!. Ive lost another roll of fat and Im flatter so never mind the scales! I bought some clothes for the gym in Medium rather than my normal large-things are changing!
My dd asked my tonight how much Iwanted to lose but I wouldnt commit because although I have a figure I want to be-if I weigh more for muscle then I wont ever arrive at it. As long as all the flab goes and I look good/feel good that is what counts. I did my BP yesterday and it had come down. I also noticed the heartrate monitor at the gym was showing lower readings today. Changes are taking place.

Bit much for the dog to be coming into your garden, Sue :( Is there no fencing?

My Mum'll tell you, cats can be trained if you catch 'em early enough! Mine uses a patch of earth at the bottom of my garden, as long as he can get outside... when I was young, one of our cats would squat over the outside drain  If I didn't have lodgers, I'd use this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Litter-Kitter-Toilet-Training-System/dp/B000NIZZCW
Hi Badger -lady yes its a natural laurel fence ,Its a lovely dog its a ex drug sniffer dog from heathrow police force thats been retired off and the neighbours do sort the problem out i'm frightened of dogs so that does not help matters .
  • This is my 4th week of induction. From next week I am going to add other things in gradualy-as in OWL but Im keeping to the 20g per day max for carbs.
I think a few things have slowed me down(unless it is all TOM)
    cauli and brocolli:rolleyes:
    caffeine(not any more tho)
    too much cream:D
Having cream in decaf coffee and also cheese sauce is a problem.
How do people feel about cooking meat in standard bolognese sauce/curry sauce for instance to flavour it-along with the normal family meals but draining/scraping off the sauce as much as is physically possible?
I did this lunchtime with stewed steak in chilli sauce-I drained off all I could-left what dripped off and left the kidney beans.
Still deep purple ketostix tonight so maybe this attitude is a balance? A way of cooking for "life" rather than just for now?
Today was a bit of an experiment. Im counting it as 10g carbs as that is approx-it may well be less as I left the beans.
Tonight I used up the cauli and had a leek also with ham and cheese sauce.
Next week I plan to go to a Harvester with a friend for a meal. Ive just downloaded the early bird meal menu and Im going to ask that the chips be replace with something else. Has anyone else done this? Harvester is good because of the salad bar and the chicken. There is one in garlic sauce so I think I will go for that and will come away reasonably unharmed. Not sure if I can resist the free ice cream sundae or not tho which Ive got a voucher for!
During the week I had SF jellies with cream. Im going to keep the cream for the coffee and ditch it on the jellies! Hey-Im burning fat still-and deep purple is the best I get whatever I do-never ever the dark purple shown on the pot-I dont think anyone does though. We can all get too hung up on that!
Kids had chips tonight-not me-not even one-Im not missing out-Im into body worship.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Morning!

Well I made the mexican fudge, goes like this

    How To Make Mexican fudge

    Yield: 4 servings

    200g / 8 ounces Mozzarella
    200g / 8 ounces Cheddar cheese
    several fresh chillis
    8 0z / 1 cup double cream
    4 eggs

Spread Mozzarella cheese on the bottom of a 8-inch square glass casserole. Spread green chile over Mozzarella. Then spread Cheddar over the chillis.

Beat eggs with the milk and pour over the cheese and chilli. Bake at 350 / 180 degrees for 45 minutes.

Cut into 2-inch squares, and serve warm.

    Per Serving: 629 Cal (76% from Fat, 23% from Protein, 2% from Carb); 36 g Protein; 53 g Tot Fat; 3 g Carb; 0 g Fiber; 880 mg Calcium; 2 mg Iron; 740 mg Sodium; 397 mg Cholesterol

It rose alarmingly in the oven and was quite nice warm with salad.

This morning it really is 'fudgy' and tasty cold. I don't think I would easily manage a 1/4 of this but will use it as a snack food to dip into.

Might be a useful tool :)

Interestingly, the chilli content seems to have relieved 'congestion' in a way the fibresure wasn't managing alone :D

    Have a good day, all!

angel i asked at 1 harvester for them to replace the chips with something else and they told me they couldnt do it, then i asked at another one and they agreed and gave me a nice big mushroom instead so worth a try, be persistent!!

i dont use pasta sauces i alays use tin toms and and add herbs etc but check the jars some arent that high in carbs... i really dont cook much different then i used to i just leave out the carbs for me, eg i made stew as normal last night with carrots etc but i pick out the carrots for them (no big deal dont like them anyways lol)

sue sounds like they should put up a more solid fence its not fair if the dog comes on yr property even if they do clean it up especially as u arent a doglover

mazzers.. u can use whey protein in various recipes eg pancakes, to thicken up oopsies or just as a shake

jude your menu looks fine to me but i dont do IPD i do atkins so best check with one of the others

Mercy - that mexican fudge sounds really interesting! When you first mentioned you were going to make it I asssumed it was a sweet thing lol:o Just wanted to check tho - is the cheese grated? And are the chillis sliced? Deffo wanna have a go at that!

Hello lovelies :hello: Woohoo TGIF!! :j:j

Me and Gilly were a bit naughty last night:o....... I mean in the food sense! :rotfl: This week's been hideously stressful for us both workwise and after yet another late night getting home last night we lapsed on the carbs front, I'm ashamed to say:o.... the less said about that the better... BUT weirdly inspite of that, we are feeling newly positive about the diet since the losses of past last week, so I am really confident this is a one-off lapse.

So, [strike]upwards[/strike] downwards and onwards:) --

    b - flax bread, sausage
l - too exhausted to make any last night, so prob dash out and get a tuna and mozerella salad from Pret.
d - streaky pork rashers, which, ahem, we should've had last night:o and half a portion of M&S ceasar-style veg.

Sue hun - hope you're feeling better today xx

Have a great day everyone

    Much love to all,

Goodmorning all one good side to tummy bug is i'm 2pounds lighter best weight in years , low carb disapeared this week with bug back on track now .
Harvesters and all restaurants i have allways asked for extra salard or extra veg to replace chips or jacket and never had a problem, I sometimes have pate to start with and ask for salard with that they give you a funny look , you then tell them you have a wheat allergy and could be very sick works every time . xx

    Hey all

Sorry I haven't posted for a while but been mega busy with work & sorting my holiday out, going to Lanzarote on Sunday ....dust off the bikini:eek:

Just a quick query, can anyone suggest supplments to combat night cramps in my legs & feet. I'm doing Dr D's plan so she doesn't specify which to take and what amounts. I've been getting crampy feet and calves at night and read on t'interweb it happens on low carb diets when your potassium, magnesium and calcium levels are skew-whiff....but what amounts and brands to take? Only ever had a multi vit before.
