I have heard they are planning a change of the wording of the refund and replace policy again.

And if things don't add up!
In the unlikely event you are charged a higher price than that on the shelf or the product, we will refund your money and you can keep the product, or alternatively we will ban you from our stores throughout Britain and make a general fool of you in public prior to you being unceremoniously ejected by the Tattood Fatty (security personel)!

very insulting words Ben and words tha I would not have thought you would have used, but, there i must be mistaken if I thought you had some decency about you, especially when you offered me those tickets.

Why wouldn't you buy four joints together? Here's a stack of reasons why you might

    1 Large Family / friend's get together
    2 Filling the Freezer
3 Have the money available now and want to buy what you can while you can afford it
4You fancy a decent roast a couple of times a week

Clearly this isn't an exhaustive list. This point is that 4 joints is not excessive.

Using generalisations like that could also be applied to wine - unless you're surname is Best, why would you want to buy more than a couple of bottles at once? Doesn't stop Tesco from encouraging it though.....

Hear Hear, I often buy 4 or 5 of one thing on my monthly big shop, also they Mr T's try to get us to buy 6 BOTTLES OR MORE of wine in one go. I know if I ever see these mispriced I will stick to their policy [wonder if the 10% discount will affect the overcharge though] :rotfl:

To the ex RMP who is having a bit of a slating, I do not join in, in this. I believe that being a security guard isn't the most rewarding job, but you are still out working

Matt, thanks for the support, believe me I have a very rewarding job, I work as a shrink expert in the store and the reward is seeing the stock take result coming in well under budget which it has for the last 5 stock results. I am amply rewarded by Mr T for the work I have done over the years. I do not believe in slating people as well, but a number of peoople on this board seem to think they are above others, but seem to forget that we all entered this world by the same way. I bear no grudges and believe me i am able to look after number one, not in a threatening way, I may add. I understand this is off topic, but people knocking my chosen profession really gets my goat up. Do not tar everybody with the same brush as Ben and kenny seem to be doing. By the way nice to see you this week Ben!!!!

I love meeting meeting people like you who believe that they are so high and mighty, which is the way you come across. If the prices are wrong then so be it, but it seems to that you go out of your way to be-little people, obviously a person with no values. What line of business are you?

Seems fdj100 you have a bit of a selective memory when it comes to remembering who's knocking who and the exact facts of the discussion thread !!! I have not once knocked you or your profession, go an check my postings. I have as many have noted discussed the point that often the security guard is used as intimidation so that a manager / CS can get away without giving a refund. From reading this thread can you deny this to be the case ???

However, in response to my post saying that basically there is no need for a manager to even be involved in a refund, and if they do come down to attempt to fob me off I go on the offensive regarding the total lack of price integrity, you have incorrectly insinuated that I have, how did you put it, oh yes, ' a person with no values' and implying that I some-sort of down-and-out, as you clearly expect anyone getting an R&R to be, which is clearly not the case.

Why would you 'love to meet people like me' because you think that you'll be able to over-whelm me with size and I'll be scared off ? Stop the press I ain't no 7 stone old lady.

Here is an exact script of how an R&R should go :

    1. Customer goes to CS with mispriced items after checking receipt against products.
    2. Customer tells CS of the item(s) mispriced
    3. CS says to customer 'may I see your receipt and the items please'
    4. CS says can you show me where your saw SEL, Poster, etc (not required if sticker goto 6)
    5. Customer shows offending SEL, poster. CS establishes quickly if product is one SEL/Poster refers to, taking down the offending material so it can be sorted. Says 'many apologies Sir/Madam lets go back to CS desk to get your refund'.
    6. CS writes down Product codes and gives customer refund and product, as per policy.
    7. Customer say thanks and bye leaving the store.

BY my reckoning that should take about 5 minutes or so, do you agree with that or NOT ?

As you can see no need of intervention by manager or security staff, unless they are obstructing the policy, Intimidating the customer, etc. DO YOU AGREE THAT THIS SEEMS A REASONABLE PROCESS AND ASSUMPTION ? OR NOT ?

Have any of you tried to take back an item for refund/exchange you were overcharged on?

Not having fun with my (free still, maybe) insurance at the moment. The refund on the product has triggered the cancellation of the policy, even though CS assured me it wouldn't.

Apparently I need to go in store and fight it out with them as the insurance company are nothing to do with Tesco. (PS: Just created another misprice hunter as the insurance woman couldn't believe I was expecting to have my money AND the insurance under the terms of tesco policy).

So what do you guys do if you need to take back an already refunded product? Am feeling like accepting it gracefully as I won't be out of pocket and do need the insurance anyway. the misprice was just a bonus which didn't last.

    Any tips?

Still needing help with this one please...

No it is not right, but then again Tesco don't do that.

Do I believe it is right for Tesco to ban customers who are abusing a policy and actively getting deliberately overcharged? Absolutely!

How can you be deliberately overcharged? you either get charged right or wrong as a customer how can you affect that? Hack the computers or something?

Change the labels over? I have read thats done and would agree that would be wrong, but just picking up an item with no modification taking it to checkout and paying is not the customers fault if they overcharge.

Seems to me you were sold insurance (which was later refunded) - actions taken by Tesco now make this purchase useless / unsuitable.

I'd go back into Tesco and explain to them what you've been told and ask THEM to find the remedy - perhaps you will have to buy a new policy and have it refunded in such a way that the cancellation isn't kicked off again. If you need a different policy maybe you could buy this and they could give you a discount equal to the cost of the old one.

I too was lucky enough to get hold of the insurance but it proved to be tricky to sort out because, as you state, the refund cancelled the policy. The manager got involved and, after considerable discussion (and attempts to wriggle out of it), they had to sell me the policy again for cash and then they did a cash adjustment on the till to balance the books. I think you may need to go back to the store or alternatively write directly to Head Office. Good luck.

I managed to get a years worldwide annual travel insurance for the family for free. Just need to book a holiday now.
