  • Hi Everyone,
Here's this week's chart. Well done to efrieze, notanothergreyhair and pokey128 joint SOTW

Pokey I know that you had said that you were going to re-start week 1 but I over-ruled you (lol). I meant to post earlier to say that you should still count your 4lb loss even though you'd changed scales. It can be really motivating for you to think you've got yourself off to such a good start, whereas ignoring it can be disheartening especially if you hit a bit of a sticky patch this week (as in all the wrong foods seem to be magically attacted to your sticky fingers.)

You may have noticed that I've highlighted some figures in blue - There's only one week left of the September 5lb challenge and I thought I'd highlight the people (including myself) who with a bit of extr effort could be able to hit this month's target (imagine how good you'll feel when you're highlighted in yellow in next week's chart).

So Ajax, Aussiebird, Bindiboo, beanilou, ftbworried, me, katyk, newlywed, pokey and vickyj - you're goal is to lose the extra 0.5 to 2lbs necessary this week to hit your 5lb goal.

By the way, don't panic if you don't see your name on the chart. It's hidden in an effort to make it a bit shorter to post. I can put you back on next week.

Efrieze would you mind taking over for the next 3 weeks for me? PM me your e-mail address please and I'll email the chart & instructions.

Good luck this new week everyone.

beanie it started on the last Wednesday in August (29th was it?). It's a 5-week month this week and runs to the 3rd October. There are 3 Five-week months in the year.

Was hoping to report a loss here tonight but ended up missing my class.

Had to run an emergency mission to mum's to replace a lock barrel as after 5pm and we were quoted £120 + vat! - went to B & Q ..less than £20!!

Left mum's at 7pm to make the 7 mile journey to class 30 mins should be ample time - so I thought. Accident on the M25 meant sitting in traffic for 1hr 30 mins and was still 3.5 miles away. Tempted to stop for a McDonalds but didn't:A.

    Got home at 9pm (2hrs for a 17 mile journey)

Sat here with a plate of pasta and veg:rolleyes:
    Weight loss since 01/08/07 - 72 lbs:j

well done for resisting temptaion jules . Keep focused and you should have a good weigh in next week and an excellent start to the Oct challenge.
    well done rachelja.

Thanks delly for the chart: the extra colours is a great idea :T

grannynise: you are doing brilliantly woohoo1.gif

I'm glad you've had a change from the 1/2lb losses beanie but sorry if it is stress that's caused it. It's an awful feeling losing your purse and well as making life difficult. Hope DS birthday has gone well . Sounds like he wasn't bothered about the cake.
Is your trike a motorised one for mobility probs?

Ajax - I hope Mrs A feels more settled with a fresh start with SW. Maybe the break from it will be just what she needed, as she has now re-chosen the compromises she is making. And she is 7lbs lighter than when she left it too. Really impressed by your support for her needs :T and good luck with going teetotal for 2 weeks  (perhaps not the best smilie :D )

Love the chickpea idea kpc: will definitely try that for OH.

Awww - Dragon don't get disheartened. Just think you've still lost 18lbs - that's lots (and wayyy more than me!).

I had a look at my Dr. Phil book last night about weightloss resistance. A lot of it was to do with pre diabetes and medication. He basically said that if it's to do with medication, to speak to your GP about seeing if it can be changed or managed in a different way. He also recommended nutritional suppliments a broad spectrum multi vitamin , L-carnatine, lots of vitamin c and perseverance but not much that was very specific, only that it is a recognised problem and that sometimes you have to accept it and learn to manage it.

I'm not sure if this is of any help to you and I don't want to ask too many personal questions on such a public forum. Does your GP have any advice for you? Can you get a referral to your dietician? Start again, day one tomorrow. We all get there eventually.

  • Thank you Delly for doing the chart. I don't know why it matters so much to see my name there, but it does. It's keeping me on the straight and (ha ha) narrow.

Julesgr --- it'll be an even better loss next week! What strength of character :T

Justmarried06 you'd have to be superhuman NOT to fall by the wayside a bit with all that temptation! I think all you can do is try really hard in between all the work related eating and enjoy it anyway.

I hope you're feeling better BB. I wouldn't have any more cold showers, what about some aromatherapy oils if you want to be stimulated? (Ajax that is NOT what I meant!!) I think the citrussy ones are quite good.

I'll be putting the chickpeas in the oven tomorrow KPC. Thanks for the idea. Roughly how long do you think they take? (I need to know if I'll have time before the governing body meeting because then I can take them with me and feed them to the governors if they ask difficult questions.)
