Morning all,
Arghhhh.... help, had a bad day yesterday, my friend is having marriage problems, spent the day with her, eating and talking, from one bar to another restaurant....food optimising went totally out the window!
Will i be able to save myself from gaining? i've got till friday for my weigh in.
Can i still have my syns and he's ? I know that you can do a super speed week, but thats too hard for me, please tell me that i can still lose on a normal sw week.
TIA
malima
Hi Malima - you should definitely still eat your Healthy Extras, as they ensure you get enough calcium, fibre and protein. You could cut right down on your syns, and stick to the plan 100%, that way you might escape with a maintain, which is better than a gain!

Hi Sread - have you ever been tested for an underactive thyroid?
I'm not a doctor, but it seems to me that your calorie intake is quite low, so even if you're not doing any exercise, your normal day to day activity should keep your weight steady.
Its funny how when people can't lose weight this is always mentioned!! Annoying that I do have an underactive thyroid  - had it since I was born, but I think mine is well & truly screwed (despite my levels being regularly checked and me apparently being on the right levels - 150mcg if anyone is interested & suffers from the same!!).
I am at the end of my tether to be honest. Am really trying to lose weight and I have lost a bit, but to lose 5kg in 5 months is absolutely bl**dy pathetic, and thats with me going to the gym 5+ times a week & eating like a saint, drinking 2+ litres of water a day, rarely drinking alcohol etc etc
I am so utterly fed up about it. And my sister, well, the weight drops off her (with no exercise!), and I think with the amount of effort I put in, it would be "fair" for me to lose weight, but no, not that simple!!
I've lost a few inches & feel better for it, but I rarely eat bread or pasta, and for the last few weeks have been eating fruit for breakfast, salad for lunch & a healthy dinner of soup or something non carby - has this made a bit of difference, NO!!! :wall:
I am only 26 so it shouldnt be impossible - aside from that am all healthy & happy with my life, (I am sorry this is such a me, me, me thread!!) but it is soooooooooooooo upsetting, it makes me want to cry!! I really am trying....
In the past it has been difficult but then I havent tried and put 100% in, had a few too many slip ups, not been to the gym enough - but now?!?!
If anyone has any advice - although I am not sure there is anything - then please feel free.
For those of you who are miserable that you have "only" lost a couple of pounds this week - think yourself lucky!! I wish I could be you!!
If I dont lose this weight then I will be fat forever, as I'll have no chance of losing it when I am older if your metabolism slows down even more....
I am really tempted to starve myself and see if that actually works - not healthy or sensible, I know - but knowing me that wouldnt even work!!
Thanks for listening guys & sorry!!

Hi everyone ... a quick update,
I have kept my calorie intake to 1200 a day or less this week with no cheating at all but had less exercise than usual due to the school holidays. I have gained a pound. I am gutted as my BMI is back to 23, that lb makes a large psychological difference! It is TOTM so I am trying to convince myself that is the problem and next week I will show weight loss rather than retiring to bed with a box of chocolates to feel sorry for myself.
I guess I must now cut the calories further and increase the exercise if I want to see any more progress. Nobody can do it for me and I will succeed!
A big well done to all the losers and maintainers this week. For those who like me have gained, stick at it and start afresh.0 -
Morning all
Nice to see so may lb's off but also made me feel better about all the people having a 1 day club. My first day back on the diet front went quite well. Only slip up was some Danish Sweets my dad brought over. I really really like them and you cant get them here so it was too much temptation. In my defence I had already opened the packet before I got the WI chock. Now there is no more open packets and I am being strong leaving the biscuits unopened.
Not had anything to drink yesterday and playing golf tonight so should be OK. Might have to go back to the 7 glasses a week challenge. Anyone fancy joining me? I start on a Friday and then no more than seven drink all week (it does not matter how large the glass is by the way).

Meant to ask suggs or consultant or anyone really:D sunshine is out and kids yelling (again!) for a trampoline, have very small garden so looking (again!) for an 8 ft one, seen on Gillian and other T.V shows that they have little trampolines in the corner of their rooms for exercise so if I bought one (hoping as each year goes by they would be grown up and left home by the time I get round to saying yes:rotfl: :rotfl: ) what good does it do exercise wise (or are they just there to make silly 'ol ladies look like a complete berk?:rotfl: :rotfl: )
Sorry Victory, not been able to help with this, been on this course in london, means a long day for me, though the mile odd walk to and from Euston must be doing me good. Bought some Bananas this morning as I had too many biscuits on the course.
Also went to see me new nephew last night. Still not going to the gym, due to my various ailments Calf/heel and groinSo happy with the walk, for now.

Hello all.
Couldn't post yesterday as I was basically working for nearly 16 hours and when I got home I ate tea and collapsed onto the sofa for the what was left of the evening!.
The long day did involve eating a Twix (in desperation! ) and 1 small biscuit to keep me going - I did have a completely free breakfast, lunch and tea though so hopefully it won't matter that much.
Well done to all those lucky losers and a hug to those who maintained or gained - it happens to us all!
Have another busy day today and hope to get by as well as possible as I have a buffet with customers for lunch - try to resist, I challenge myself but do wobble a bit.
Anyway, better get back to it,
Have a saintly day (or enjoy it if you don't
