Halifax Offering £100 To Switch To Them

I'm looking at opening a new bank account and this £100 bonus sounds nice. I already have a current account with Halifax although it hasn't been used in years.
I think it may be a student account but I'm not sure. Does this mean I won't get £100 bonus? Could I close my account then open another and get it? I saw someone mention that you won't get it in this thread but I thought I'd double check!0 -
I received a letter 3 weeks ago to say i had been accepted and all I had to do was pay in £100 overnight balance. It didn't specify i had to go to a branch so I did it online, in the same way I've been banking for donkeys years.
I signed the form and the signature slip and returned it.
Now not only has my £100 disappeared but I've now had a letter requesting I.D.
Why not say that in the acceptance letter, pay in £100 and supply I.D.
This just gets better by the day. I've had another letter off the transfer team to say as I haven't contacted them they have cancelled transfer. I did contact them to tell them that I had paid in the £100.
Had a seperate letter with my PIN number.
This is defintely a complete waste of my time and now I have the added hassle of trying to get the £200 of my own money back.0 -

Same here! I got the cancellation letter on friday and my PIN on Saturday! I phoned them and today I received the transfer letter. I think I'm still gonna stick with them for a bit. I like the rate. I am going to keep my Smile account open tho.. and if things get so bad I'm take my money and my free £100 back to Smile!£2019 in 2019 #44 - 864.06/20190 -

Why not go to Alliance and Leicester who also do 6% interest but also give 0% overdraft for 12 months. Plus if you are recommended by a friend you both get £25... I can be your friend if you want!! ;-)0 -
To date, Halifax have sent me, on three different occasions, prefilled transfer forms where I have had to enter my contact phone numbers, sign and date. No doubt this equates to me undergoing three transferrals:eek:
Hope this also equates to 3 X £100 for me:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -

Who did you phone? Can you get through to the switching team direct? Was it easy to sort out? or can I just complete the switching form from the website and send that in?
Thanks to Regularsaver there appears to have been a technical problem when funding the account by direct credit from another bank. This has now been sorted, my £100 is back ! and I have received my debit card so I'm assuming my account is fully up and running?
Just need to sort out the transfer of DD's etc now.
Edit: have just phoned and the transfer has now been reactivated so fingers crossed. And to think mine is the smoother application out of the two of us!0 -

You can get them to call you from THIS PAGE, just click on "Bank accounts" then enter your phone number and when you want them to call you, and they will, saves you using the 0845 numberDon`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -
But that isnt the switching team... thats just a general team, that never put me through....
My account has been open since 8th Febuary... This is when I paid in the £100, and when they confirmed they had received all the necessary documentation to switch me from A&L. Its an ongoing process they say, but it is taking so damn long.
5 weeks and counting... not heard anything.0 -
