Looks like Watchdog are not doing anything about this by the looks of things so im hoping someone or some people have contacted Trading Standards in the Liverpool area as they live in Liverpool and thats where Littlewoods is based.
I have a feeling Littlewoods have shot themselves in the foot by offering some people 25% off and not others.Always looking for a bargain and to help0 -
Ok, for anyone still interested in prolonging this whole business, I have been reading through the 'my account' stuff on their website, and as far as I can tell there may well be a way to get the laptops at the prices first agreed.
Before I start, I must point out that I'm not sure if I will follow this up, as part of me feels quite guilty that we have all jumped like leeches to try and take advantage of human error. If this had been a normal retail website, I would just laugh and shrug it off. However, the fact that it now seems quite a lot of hassle and a potentially protracted process to close our credit accounts with them and stop all forms of mail from them, I'm not sure how I feel.
Anyway, here goes:
Log into 'my account' on the littlewoods site and go to 'transaction history'. I have the following information:
'30 Jan 2007 ...134.10... to be charged to visa on despatch.
2 feb 2007 ... 134.10 refund to visa'
Now the point is they have charged my visa - it is showing in my card's online statement (the refund on the other hand hasn't gone through yet).
By their own records, they would only charge my card on dispatch - which they therefore technically did - ie they 'legally' dispatched the goods, according to their own order history! According to their own terms and conditions as we all know by now, the contract is made when they dispatch (not when we receive delivery or they email acceptance etc.). One would have to presume they recalled the goods at some point along the dispatch trail, but by their own words, they had dispatched the goods - as they took payment!
There you go, if you want to take it forward, and I am as yet undecided, I do truly believe that as long as they took the payment, you can!!0 -
From what i read if you paid by credit card then the payment wouldnt be taken til the goods were despatched. The money had been taken then credited (according to my transaction history and pending transaction on my credit card) so i would have thought that would have constituted the contract.
As i've said before i've declined the 25% off and advised them of some points of interest and am awaiting a reply.Always looking for a bargain and to help0 -
my account still shows online as order accepted, even though they said they declined the order in the one and only email offering 25% off, i never received anything..at all apart from that and so NO email rejecting my payment and no email declining my order.
logged in again 5 mins ago and still says accepted.
anyone else the same?0 -

I paid by credit card too and they have charged my card also. I have just now written an e-mail to Littlewoods rejecting their offer of 25% and asking them to honour their price they have charged my credit card....see what happens!

I have just tried to see my transaction history, but mine apparently does not work. lol
I have tried sending several emails to the customer services but am yet to hear anything back.
