Just got this reply from Liverpool Trading Standards (good on them for quick reply). My local Brent and Harrow Trading Standards have yet to reply.
Thank you for your e-mail regarding the difficulties you are having with Litlewoods Online.
As we are a local authority service our policy is to deal only with Liverpool residents and council tax payers. As you live outside of the Liverpool City council area you will have to contact your own local Trading Standards Department, who will be able to offer you advice relating to this matter.
Regards.

Can you force a shop to sell you goods if you see them mistakenly under-priced?
No, sorry. If they’re mis-priced the shop can refuse to sell you them. There is no contract until it has accepted the cash. Before that point they can refuse (and if it is on the internet even if they have accepted that case, it can argue using the Law of Mistake that the transaction isn’t finalised). However, you can report them for misleading prices to the trading standards office. See extra briefing on Misleading Prices.
If they took the money from my credit card then credited it back then they've accepted the cash in the first instance by taking the money out.Always looking for a bargain and to help0 -

Okay, sorry but I haven't had the time to read all of the posts in this thread but the above interests me.
Littlewoods have taken the money for this Laptop out of my account, yet I have received the email saying it was a miss-price and that I wouldn't receive the goods. Does that mean they have to send me the goods??
Thanks0 -

Exactly, this is what we need to find out. Contact your local Trading Standards as I think that is the only way we will know once and for all. :money:0 -

£579 is price on LX Direct

I must admit, that I agree with the above, all they can really be taken up on is misleading prices, which is a criminal offence so trading standards should look into it. Another point worth noting is that not all trading standard offices investigate civil matters, (some do some dont) however they should all be able to give advice.Always on the hunt for a bargain0 -
Grrr, mine has just this second been cancelled (online status).
But they took the money? Hmmm

I phoned my local trading standards office and explained I had purchased a pc from the littlwoods web site and the funds have been taken from my bank account, explaining I had then received a email informing me they were not honoring the sale I asked are Littlewoods legally obliged to honour the agreement upon taking the funds in short the reply was no, he said I could try to claim through the small claims court but said it would be difficult to win the case0
