Some excellent losses so far this week, well done all of you:T
Those who haven't done as well as they hoped - don't worry about it, work on it! Stick to your plan this week and see a really good loss next week, remember it takes time to re-educate yourself to new habits, so you shouldn't be too disappointed when you slip a bit.
Newlywed, I agree with buying yourself a tasty low syn/cal treat regardless of the cost. I picked up 2 huge bags of grapes at the local market and the stall holder said "Ooh those are £4.58 love, shall I put some back?". I paid for them happily knowing they'll last me several nights and cost no more than the chocolate I might once have consumed, and the virtuous feelings alone are worth the money, lol.
Retiredlady, I'm so glad you wrote that post because it's so hard to make people believe how much you can eat with SW and still lose weight. I find that people who have done WW with their more restricted eating, have major problems coming to terms with what they're allowed at SW. It's true - so true - you eat until you're full and still lose weight steadily,:j
KatiePC, I think I may have mentioned before (please excuse if I have!) but I have had members strip off in group when they've come in jeans by mistake!! They regularly take off necklaces, earrings, specs and anything removable, it can be very funny to watch!
Sam you see you CAN cope :T well done, both of you!I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Suggs wrote:Tallgirl and Lois seeing as you ladies are comparing wine notes, how does a venti, extra shot, sugar free vanilla, skinny latte from starbucks work
Which I worked out is 214cals 0g fat against 386cals 14.5g fat for the normal whole milk version.
Hi Suggs - just looked this up on the SW website, and it would be 10.5 syns (not counting the vanilla). That sounds a lot when you consider the daily allowance is between 10 and 15 syns a day, however you could reduce that by 6 syns if you counted the milk as a Healthy Extra (if you were following SW!).
Is there a Starbucks in NP?

Hello everybody.
I was sick again for the whole weekend and missed a great bowling evening (the "good" news is that I missed the nachos with chilli too). I feel depressed, it's as if I waste all my free time in being ill.
And I have maintained this week, dammit.
Back to the gym tonight. I wish I became addicted to the gym. I won't, though. That doesn't happen to me, although usually I am good at the commitment of going regularly.'They can tak' oour lives but they cannae tak' oour troousers!'The Nac Mac Feegle0 -
Hello all, hope everyone is well. My target atm is 7lbs but I'm still currently on 5lbs (no loss this week) which I'm a little relieved about as it's totm. Hope everyone else is doing well. xxx

Sorry to hear about your gallstones. I had to be operated some years ago, I had stones AND "sand" so there was no possibility of success by treatment. I had my operation just in time - my poor gallbladder was about to burst! It was a bad time, lots of very painful attacks during the months previous to the operation. Today I don't have to follow any special treatment, I keep my liver ok by taking care of the amount of fat I have in my food and that's all. That's the most important thing. So move on to semi- or skimmed milk if you haven't already and keep all fats low, and avoid anything that may make your liver overwork.
I'm afraid I don't have any more advice... if you can avoid the attacks and don't need the pain killers, so much the better. If you do need pain killers, don't waste time trying to resist. There is no point in needless suffering!'They can tak' oour lives but they cannae tak' oour troousers!'The Nac Mac Feegle0 -

salut to everyone who does so much exercise :T:T:T
i really have to look around and find something for myself
but it's just so difficult with OH working odd (night)shifts and 2 little ones
i had a rather good day (i think )
lunch was leftover rice with tom.sauce and dinner chicken fajitas; but the snacks are my downfall- i DID have an apple though and in the evening i always get those sweet cravings
- i had a few softmints instead :T
I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work0 -

..... just thought i'd share my motivation with you incase it helps anyone else.
When i'm at work in front of my computer and thinking how good a trip to the vending machine sounds, i open an excel file with my weekly scores in. I write them in each week and it makes a little chart. It's so satisfying seeing the trend going downwards that I spend a few moments looking at it (and working out how light i'll be at what date in the future) that my desire for chocolate is (almost!) gone.:T
Might work for someone else too?Proud to have become an Ocean Rower in 2010 (crossed the Atlantic in a crew of 4 ladies and had the best 77 days of my life!)0 -
Hi all
Well done to everyone who lost this week, the weight losses are very impressive. Commiserations to anyone who gained or maintained. Slimmer of the Week goes to Loopylass with her amazing 9 pound result, and Petrichor has achieved her 7lbs target for January - well done to both of you. :T
I know more people are still due to weigh in, so I'll do an update later in the week.
Have a good week everyone!
