the law is stupid in this way, it obviously should be the other way round, you win some ruling saying you could buy the tv at full price and get refunded the difference. But life can't be that simple :)
because you know full well that the majority of greedy beestards would just see it as a cash award and have no intention of actually buying the tv

I doubt if they'd be bothered, probably see it as free advertising!

Suggest you look at unbeatable to try and work out the cost price of this TV
since Unbeatable margins are almost cost, there profit magrin is on warranty and finance
The days of huge margins on white goods is long on, yes 15 years ago some items would have a large profit magin built in nowdays is more likely to be £10 per box, example Richer sounds sell Plasma for £999 on that the profit is approx £5-10 max where they make there money is on the brackets, wall mountings and warranty as a rule once you have purchased your £999 Plasma you will spend anothe £300-£400 in bits and pieces thats where the money is made

A post from a while back when I said about ebuyer making big profits on the TV's

Well, what can I say? they can drop the price by £30 to £299 and still obviously making profit...doesn't seem like they are only making £5-£10 max to me :(

They really are taking the p**s but i think they may have just helped us, i recieved the email where they are offering the tv again for £299 incl. BUT as i scrolled to the right they have a picture of a wide screen tv with a quote next to it saying

"No gimmicks just great prices" then the widescreen tv picture then this "Tv's from £49.99 incl VAT"

Thing is the link in the email then just goes to the TV section on their page........

So i reckon this email shows we could have expected the TV to be priced at £30.....

    Otherwise this advertisement is misleading....

I would upload it but not sure how...

    ...

BUT YOU KNEW IT WAS A MISTAKE - there are over 80 pages discussing it as a mistake - it was all over the bargain forums and newsgroups being discussed as a mistake..you are only trying to kid yourself noone and i mean noone seriously thought this was genuine - you dont need to be convinceing yourself its a judge you need to convince and you won't. You are going to get nowhere at all until you buy the same model at a higher price and sue for loss of bargain..no point keep discussing the same things over and over until you do this you are going no further....

To bs7 and gazbcfc: serious allegations here ('lie' and 'ebuyer job'). Either gazbcfc works for ebuyer or he does not. I know not which! If he does work for ebuyer, as bs7 alleges, then bs7 should report him (Those connected to a company being discussed MUST state that connection within their post.) If he is NOT connected to ebuyer, then gazbcfc should report bsy for abuse!

sorry my friend, you are clearly confused, i was pointing out that ebuyer are now advertising tv's as stated and that would indicate to a judge that ebuyer knew what they were doing when advertising that tv at that price it also indicates that ebuyer still have not learnt their lesson......

No arguments or convincing judges here my friend just pure facts.....

Last point, my post was not the same thing that been posted before as this is a new email where ebuyer are displaying an advertisment with a widescreen tv with the words i posted next to it....... THIS IS FALSE ADVERTISEMENT UNLESS THEY ARE SELLING THAT TV FOR THAT PRICE.

Comments changed to company only ;)

Ebuyer needs to change the email and stop trying to be clever as it does not suit them.... :rotfl:
