  • good call with the duct tape madauri, although i'm keeping my fingers crossed that with SW help it would be pointless to make a dummy now as it wouldn't fit me before long! One of my promised gifts to myself when i get to target is a flash tailors dummy with wheels and stuff for me to use - the added bonus beign that if i gain too much weight I'll have wasted £100. One of the reasons I started SW was i got sick of having to resew the seams in my kit every night on camp. By firelight. with brass needles and pins. Was beginning to feel like she-hulk by day and cinderella by night . . . . .

well, the good thing of the duct tape dummies is that they are fast and cheap. And they can be fun for your OH to make too ;)

That said, I've never bothered to make one for myself. For the same reason.

I haven't got proper help for that though...

    Evening all

This clock changing lark really b*ggers up my body clock - I'm hungry when I shouldn't be, and not hungry when I should be  You wouldn't think one hour could make such a difference!

Here's the chart for this week. As usual, if there are any anomalies, please let me know.

Well done to Flis, our Slimmer of the week with an excellent loss, :T and a big well done to Jenpoptab for reaching target, having lost 26.5 pounds, a great achievement.

    Have a good week everyone.

The past few days have been much better diet wise for me - seem to be sticking to the SW plan ok and not have anywhere near all the syns allowed. Feel better in myself too as I have not drunk any alcohol for a week and have been getting a bit more sleep.
Weigh in is on Wednesday and I gained (understandably from stress and holiday) last week. Hoping that at least some of the 3 lbs on has disappeared again.
Will try to be good until then - have planned tea for tomorrow and have lunch sorted too.

Well done to all of the Monday losers - you're all doing so well!

    Keep up the good work
    Take care
    Rachel.

Went to a live last year at manchester, we were sat on the front row and everytime the camera was on us we had to grin like cheshire cats and applaude, my face ached by the end of the night.

Hi folks, :hello: and well done to all who have lost so much. :T

Hello to all the newcomers, too - there seem to be lot of new names appearing.

Well I bit the bullet yesterday and joined a gym. haven't actually gone yet:o but am down for an induction with their fitness instructor on Wednesday evening.

Have also borrowed the Paul McKenna dvd from the library to try to hypnotise myself into thinking that apple is really much tastier than chips or chocolate. I am a born cynic but thought it would do no harm to try it free for a couple of weeks so have played it about 4 times now in the past 8 days. Strangely enough it DOES seem to have managed to increase my willpower greatly.:D There was a 1.2kg tin of celebrations in the office last week (don't know where from) and every time anyone made tea or coffee this was passed round. By Friday afternoon the tin was empty and I had not had a single choccie!!!!:D More to the point, saying no had been really easy - no temptation at all! I am rapidly turning into a convert! Also seem to be fuller quicker than before and have no real temptation to nibble all day. Other good point is I don't seem to be thinking about food all the time - have stopped bothering to write everything down and spend every minute planning next meal, tomorrow's breakfast etc.

Lois, can I rejoin the 2lb club please? I had put on 2lb whilst on holiday but have now lost 2.5 last week so I am now 6.5lb down on my original starting weight of 15 stone 5lb.

Night night folks - I am off to make yet another pan of Pumpkin Soup (nice recipe on SW) before bed.

Honey- fancy dress party sounds fab, I wish I had an excuse for one!

Lois, My 2lb loss this week was "unofficial" as I weighed in on Saturday and at my mums house. I didnt go to SW last night for several reasons, the main being that I am absolutely shattered from 3 nights partying at the weekend!!! I reckon that the 2lb loss that showed on the scales on Sat morning will be back on so maybe better change the chart. Having a Halloween party tonight for the kids, making a large pot of SW (free) curry. Back on plan properly from tomorrow and hoping for 100% week.

Off to a card making class in a craft shop this morning, it was a present that I got for my birthday, really looking forward to it! Maybe it will take my mind off the remainder of the chocolate birthday cake

Be good, catch up later. Jen, hope you are feeling a bit better.
  • oh dear. 2lb gain this week. I did go a bit off the rails though. so I'm now aiming to get that 2lb off for next week. I seem to have got in a bit of a rut with eating the same things and not planning my meals. I need to sit and plan for the rest of the week then I can get back on track. things should get a bit easier now the children are back at school.
    HOW MUCH ?

    Morning all,

Hope we are all well, I go away for a few days and loads is written!, Cant possibly sit down and read it all, but have started reading up the last couple of pages since Sunday.

Got back early Sunday morning, in time to experience turning the clock back twice! Once for the flight and once for the change from BST to GMT. Felt shattered since. But the two sets of children got on really well, plenty of sun, plenty of laughs and smiles. Even overheard them planning the next holiday! Plenty of walking and reading (too much to be fair a ended up hobbling), even found a place that did Jacket Potatoes and Salad for no fish and chips for me :T was still a little naughty, drunk loads of 'cafe con leche' :) Even found time to play scrabble with the OH a couple of times :D Palma Cathedral was awe-inspring, felt very humble inside.

Well the shock is I lost 1lb while away, will try to double it for Friday as thats when the op is. Got back in the Gym last night, that was a culture shock for me

Belated Birthday wishes Honey, seems like you had a great time, do we get to see a pic of you all dressed up? Hope the card making las goes well.

Consultant, your words as always reassure me, thank you. a slight tan I got, in spite of all that walking. Not sure about been gorgeous though ;)

Loopy, good to see you had a great break also, you never know, you may hav negated all the naughty things with all the walking you did, finger crossed for you.

Katyk, good luck with the gym, hopefully the induction will be painless for you :) like most things it can take a couple of weeks for the benefits to some through.

alyssa_mae a 2lb gain, is not the end of the world, you seem to recognise the need to change, pretty sure the better informed in here will help you plan a little better. I argee that planning your meals help alot, I find it hard to plan it out also.

Well Done Jenpoptab on hitting target

Right back to work for a little bit. Welcome to all the newcomers and congratulations to the losers, especially to flis21 6lbs is true top banana!
