  • Hi can I join in please my goal weight is 11 STONE

About me I am married and have 2 DD's nearly 4 years and 17months.

I joined ww 23/3 last year and did well till sept then all went to pot. I had lost 46lb and over the months I have put back on 1st 1.5lb.
It all started to go wrong when I stopped breastfeeding and losing 5 points I found hard not having that choc bar in the evening.

I weight in on a monday and some how I did lose 1lb but don't know how.

I have got into a rut and need to get out of it. Any advice?

Yes please - I love lemon meringue pie and would love to make it for the weekend!

Hope this is of some use to anyone :) Definately recommended!

The recipe can be found in the Weight Watchers 'Cook Smart Family Food' recipe book :)

Lemon Meringue Pie - Serves 4 (5 points per serving)

    Ingredients:

    For the pastry:
    150g plain flour
    A pinch of salt
    75g low fat polyunsaturated margaine

    For the filling:
    3 tablespoons cornflour
    150ml water
Juice and grated zest of 2 lemons
    50g caster sugar

    For the meringue:
    2 egg whites
    50g caster sugar

    1) To make the pastry, mix the flour and salt together. Rub in the margarine until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.

    2) Sprinkle over 1-2 tablespoons water and mix with a palette knife until the pastry comes together into lumps. Draw it together quickly with your hand, wrap in clingfilm and place in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

    3) Preheat the oven to Gas Mark 7 / 220 degrees / fan oven 200 degrees. On a floured surface, roll out the dough to fit a shallow 20cm (8 inch) tart tin. !!!!! all over with a fork and line with foil or baking paper and scatter with baking beans (ordinay dried beans will do). Bake for 15 minutes.

    4) Remove the beans and foil or paper, and bake for a further 5 minutes.

    5) Mix the cornflour with the water in a saucepan, Add the lemon juice and zest and bring to the boil, stirring until the mixture thickens. Add the sugar and stir.

    6) Pour the filling into the pastry case and make the meringue. In a clean grease-free bowl, whisk the egg whites until they are stiff then whisk in half the sugar. Fold in the rest of the sugar and then pile the meringue on top of the lemon mixture.

    7) Bake for 10 minutes, or until the meringue is crisp and lightly browned. Leave to cool before serving or the centre will be runny.

Variation: For Key Lime Pie - follow the same recipe but use limes instead of lemons.

I seriously need to get my head back around the plan today. Had my birthday on Sunday and although we ate a relatively low pointed Nandos meal I topped this off with a huge proffiterole dessert and champagne. Emm and I also baked some cookies which I've been picking at. Yesterday, I took Emma into Manchester and had a KFC albeit a small Streetwise wrap.

However, today I'm making Emma take most of those cookies into school with her (she's doing a holiday camp there) and I did exercise last night plus walked loads yesterday. But to redress the balance I'm going to walk to the supermarket this morning and walk back, do an exercise DVD when I get in and eat sensibly today. There, I've said it. x

    Morning everyone

First post updated with all weight losses to date (i've added the total weight loss in brackets but if I've got any wrong or people have lose more since before this thread started, then let me know and I'll change it).

I'll update the supermarket offers a bit later tonight. I've got to start my mealplan and shopping list shortly so won't have time to sit on here until later this evening.

I've got my parents coming down this weekend but they're happy to eat WW stuff which is great news ! They've both had operations so coming here to recouperate and I think they'll just be happy to be waited on hand and foot :D

YWG I've popped a link to lemon pie on first post too - I'll definitely be making that this weekend !

  • Morning all,

I think I'll sneek quietly in and say I had a 2lb gain yesterday, oops. My own fault... the red wine monster hit Thurs, Friday, Sat oh and Sun (1/2 term hol here so off work). Also went to a carvary on Sun and had cheese & biccys Sun eve.... So there explains the gain then.

So was determined to get back on track and then I stupidly took the kids to mcd's yesterday for lunch and to my horror I had a big tasty with bacon and med fries, pointed it later and it came in at at whopping 18pts for the burger and 5 for the fries :eek::eek: omg!!! 23pts for lunch left me with -1 for the whole day.

So I've put it on my tracker and I'll work hard to make up the points all week to limit the damage, before I would have thrown in the towel and gone back to my old ways but I have realised that I'll going to have to be on WW for the rest of my life and slip ups are part of everyday life. It's taken me 15 years to put on the 6 stone so as long as I lose or even maintain something each week then I'm going to be happy. My ultimate goal is that I never ever want to go back to weighing the 14stone 11lbs I did at the beginning of the year and if I can slowly lose the excess weight but still maintain a healthly lifestyle with the occasionally blip/ treat then I'm happy.

Hope everyone has a good day and I'll catch you all later.

bigmomma, try not to beat yourself up too much. Like you said, we all have slip-ups and if you look at it the way you're doing then I'm sure you WILL succeed! How much have you lost altogether? (sorry, I'm being nosy now lol)

I'm looking at it in the same way too, it's for life and I'm going to have the odd slip-up and time when I want a treat along the way. As long as I'm losing the weight overall and keeping it down then a meal out or a party isn't the end of the world. Just have to get back on it straight away and keep plodding along, looking forward to the next time you can have a treat/night off.

    target is 10 stone!!!

    there I've said it

been doing WW since just before Christmas but really struggle to stick to the plan and count my points :(:(

must do something as my health is starting to suffer (bad back, sore knees)

On the plus side I have joined an aqua aerobics class which is great fun and got into the habit of going swimming on the way to work twice a week

so I hope that coming on here and posting will give me the boost I need!:T:T:T
Go hopefully into each new day, enjoy something from every day no matter how small, you never know when it will be your last
