Morning all!
Im suprised im the first poster today! My apologies for being awol over the last week or so, I had tonisillitis, was back at work, revising, stressing - the usual stuff really!
Anyway, ive been trying to arrange a shorter hour contract at work so I get to take a day off in the week as I dont feel like I get much time to myself - when im at work I dont get to do a lot of stuff for myself in the evening, and weekends have been taken up working and cleaning and getting ready for the next week! Im going to be using my week day off as my hobby day, so I can get out and do some photography, or use the sewing machine, or some other arty thing!
Im quite looking forward to having it organised anyway! I feel like its quite a selfish thing to organise, but ive recently come to the conclusion that life isnt all about working, and as my debts are being reduced quite dramatically at the moment, and ive bought all of the expensive things I wanted for my house, my outgoings can reduce again to cover the one day a week loss. Im going to call my day off Jo's day of fun and im not going to let anyone interrupt me or sway me on that day into doing anything that isnt about me!
So - selfish talk over, things havent been too bad here, I have a new pet, a siamese fighting fish called Nitro (he's bright red and very funny) - and he swims to the front of the tank and eyes me up before showing of his fins and tail. My ebay bookcase should be another few weeks and I get a pay rise and bonus next month (to pay off overdraft - clever).
Anyway - im off, ive got to get ready and I think ill take a lunch break today and go to M & S and spend my vouchers that ive still got burning a hole in my purse! Ill be back later if I think of anything else to report!
Jo xx

Morning Jo
Hope you are well!
Another bad night here, but feel a little more positive today:D Have taken some pain killers and these should kick in soon:rolleyes:
DW is due to go on after breakie. Toilet has been cleaned and there is not enough washing to put the DW on:T
OH has promised to cut the lawns today as they werent done yesterday and also the inside of windows. DD will be completing her HW so thats all done for monday as shes going to the zoo tomorrow.
Will pop back on later, but need a cup of tea and biccies.
Breakie:Bacon & Mushroom Sarnie
Lunch:Gammon & Chutney Rolls
Dinner:HM Fish Pie & Veg
BTW, the school has still said we cant take the holiday next month, but have called the education team at our council and they said the worst thing that can happen is that one of them will come round and talk to us. As its so late in the term and DD has passed her 11+ and got into her chosen grammar school-she said this is hardly likely....and she is the special officer for DD's new school in September:rotfl:
Hugs to all.

Good morning everyone,
PP - thats comforting news, at least you can go on holiday knowing it will be ok, and your DD wont have to put up with the old school much longer!!! Hope the painkillers are kicking in for you x
Jo - glad you are feeling better, and great that you are getting a 'you' day off now!!
Well, really busy day here today, 2 little ones and 4 big ones on top of my own 2, but 2 only overlap for about 1 1/2 hours this afternoon, whilst the babies are asleep, so it shouldnt be too bad, and the weather is still lovely, so i think we will be able to enjoy the garden again.
I cut the back lawn yesterday, but didnt d the front, so thats my job for today, and if i have the energy (and can stop little ones copying) i might attempt some weeding as well. Im not good at noticing the difference between a flower and a weed so sometimes it is pot luck as to what gets pulled up!!!!
DS has a presentation evening tonight, all to do with his football club, and has to go in black trousers, white shirt and a tie, so should be a very good evening, especially as his team (the under 9s) have done so well this year, i think the club should be very proud of all of them!!!
Right, little one should be here in a minute, so better go find some things for her to do once she gets here!!!
Have a lovely day, Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Morning jo and PP Hope you both have a good day. I went to my pals funeral yesterday and it was a bit traumatic, but she is at rest now and out of pain.
Today I have visitors and they want to go to Dover Castle, so I hope the weather stays nice for us. It is also my youngest grandsons 2nd birthday and I shall be popping in with his present.I shall take them out for a meal tonight as I only see them about once a year as they live in Colchester. There are some nice pubs not too far away from where I live so it will make a nice change to get out in the evening. Only two more weeks to go to my GCSE law exams, I'll be glad when it's over and done with .Then three weeks this Saturday I am off to Amsterdam with my daughter for a long week-end to see Robbie Williams .Have a good day everyone0 -
Morning everyone
Been feeling unwell lately, I cant quite put my finger on what it is just not sleeping but feeling exhausted, upset tummy, coughing...
Been trying to do the garden but finding things hard, I wonder if there are any charities that help with gardening for disabled people?

:hello: Gooooood Morning OS'ers!
Been a busy week in Queenie-land and it's still not over yet.
The biggest single time eater has proved to be the garden and relocating the hen to her permanent run! Despite only having a small garden, it's involved chopping down and trying to take out the root of an old buddliea and a heap of shrubs. Thank goodness for the recent rains because it did make the task of getting the shrubs out a bit easier, same couldn't be said for the other roots thoughAll had to be shredded, which is time consuming and taken to the tip for green waste. Still have the ground to level and reassess the area once again. Lots of aches and pains and 'war' wounds
The best part of the week was ds's 12th birthday on Monday. He was delighted to get the gifts on his wish list (naturally!) but was blown away by the "Adolescence Survivial Kit" which I'd been putting together, bit by bit, for some time. When he realised the tempo of the gift, there was a moment where he blushed (so cute!) and said: "You haven't got me a condom, have you, Mum?" - "Of course not!".... when he opened the gift labelled: "Better to be safe than sorry" ... he didn't found one .... but 6
 2 x 3 packs, different varieties *and* from the reduced counter :rotfl: )!!!!
He had a real belly chuckle when he opened "Sex, Puberty and All That Stuff" then "The Teenage Guy's Survival Guide: The Real Deal on Girls, Growing Up and Other Guy Stuff" and finally, "Living with a Willy". All three books each had something different to offer in terms of writing style and information but at least now I know he'll have all the information to hand as and when he needs it - one book describes shaving, yet another has pictures. So, good job his kit also included a razor and shaving foam then:rotfl: Wondering how long it will be before he begins filling up his "little black book" (address book)
He's quite looking forward to going back to school and telling his mates about his A.S.K <
oooh, look! I put together an A.S.K. so that he won't be too embarrassed/anxious/worried or need to ask about adolescent stuff)
It's d10yo's birthday in August and he's already written *his* birthday list and in capital letters: "NOT an adolescence survival kit!" :rotfl: I've promised him he won't get one for his 11th (hey! He'll get it on his 12th and not before)
My eldest 3 all got a Teen Survival Kit to mark their 13th birthday, but with these two, it's been brought forward a year and renamed accordingly; they seem to know more and grow up sooner these days. Funnily enough, while they can't remember the gifts they got, they all remembered, laughed and enjoyed their Teen Survival Kits. So now, I shall be plotting and planning for when it's d10yo's turn in 15mths time, trying to make it unique and individual for him.
Friends came over on BH Monday and gave me a gift of ... a herb pot from their garden :j :j A very OS kind of gift and one I was very happy to receive. On Saturday, we've been invited over because they are putting the smoker on - should make for a fascinating afternoon! Never seen one in action before. Plus, all her quails have now hatched so the lads will enjoy seeing those
Crikey, time is running away with me!!! Need to don my wellies again shortly so I'd best be going.

Good Morning!
I'm yet to get off my butt & do anything. Well the DW is emptied & is currently on a hot wash empty with soda crystals & vinegar to get clean. Also we are all breakfasted.
But I need to have a shower, the kids need a bath, the house needs a Kim & Aggie style makeover & I have to get the kids to the hairdressers!
I'll just drink this 2nd bucket of coffee 1st...... ;0
