Yes but if someone sees someone has say 1,000 thanks and only 150 are for help and advice they would think that they were thanked 1,000 for help and advice when really 850 were for stupid posts. I'll shut up now i'm not explaining myself well am I?
I know what you mean Kimberley, as I'm sure many others domake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

The only way i have been able to find other posts by me is by clicking username and clicking find other posts (by me) The only ones that are coming up are the ones posted before the shut down. I was told to click public profile and click find more posts (byme) there but the same thing happens. How else can i find my previous posts please
This seems to have been attended to, must have just been a temp hiccup.
its working now:Tmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

I'm sure in the previous 9 pages, someone has picked this up, so please ignore if it's already been flagged:

I was told that they were still working on it - it is a bit annoying for the reasons tha Jinky has pointed out.
I'm still getting a totally blank page when I click on a poster's 'profile'.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Sorry - ignore that - it's working now.
We do appear to have to put a 'space' between smilies now - or is that just me.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.

Hey All,
Reading through this thread I believe we have fixed all the initial major bugs. We have a list of the other issues and they will be fixed/added throughout the day but the core of coming up this morning was to ensure functionality which we have.
Thanks for your feedback so far, just so you are aware we are now working on:- Search issues, including post thanks search
- Thanks in user profile
- User Profile Screen missing information
- Quote/thanks buttons reversed
- Forum links in header bar.
- Quick Reply Box size

As posters keep on saying the same thing.......
Please read above!Nothing is foolproof, as fools are so ingenious!0 -
I've read some of the threads above and I'd like to thank all the posters for the great feedback. I have noticed a few notes from a minority of annoyance or anger, which I do find a little surprising, so I thought I would explain a little.
This is a MAJOR task on a forum of unprecedented size
First of all great job to Ian & Neil. Thank you. It's important everyone understand this is a major upgrade on one of the biggest forum of its type in the world.
Just the back up, conversion and restore takes many hours of the down time. Remember this forum is the seventh biggest social networking site in the UK - only facebook. myspace, bebo, bbc, friendsreunited (and another I've forgotten) are bigger. So anything like this is a mjaor task.
It was done to provide more speed, reliability and customisation options.
The main aim of this was to move to a more recent, faster, more reliable version of vbulletin - which in the long run will enable us to have much more functions in here - and do many of the changes our users have requested.
Very little down time was deliberate
The guys have worked over the weekend to get this up and running with minimum down time. Of course we could've just closed it for five days and got everything perfect - but we've doen the best we can to restore the forum as soon as possible then tweak it live - as we know how important it is to many people.
The fact the thing is up and running is great. Yet many of the 'custom' options and hacks we've added in the past may be squiff-whiff and so when you tell us the team will be dedicated to getting the whole thing running smoothly in the next day or so.
Please keep reporting and have a little patience.

I think my employer should head hunt Ian and Neil because when we had a serious crash in work we were down all week and weeks (or is it months) later we are still crawling along as they archive and back up stuff to make more room.
Glad it's back up and running and ahead of schedule but on a down note posting on here has stopped me washing the windows.~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)
