Yes and some are bigger *thankers* than others. Knowing about thanked posts is meaningless unless you know how often users use it and why.

Yes but if someone sees someone has say 1,000 thanks and only 150 are for help and advice they would think that they were thanked 1,000 for help and advice when really 850 were for stupid posts. I'll shut up now i'm not explaining myself well am I? :D

    We now have this:
    > Contacts & Friends

But there is no "quick link" to it that I can see.

You have to go to User CP and the click Contacts & Friends on the left.

I don't like this and prefer the old buddy list. The contacts and friends list is clumsy looking and doesn't tell you if any of your friends are online.

Not that i see the point in a buddy list anyway, I have never understood what it does, but why the friendship requests?

What is that gonna do for us?

KImberley, NONE of us regulars in the arms has a majority of thanks for "help and advice". Most will be for just banter. Which is why I have always said that the arms should not have a thanks facility.

It has some uses in the advanced social networking, usergroups and advanced profiles features that you can have with this new forum software.

MSE have those features disabled which is why it is sitting there looking a bit pointless. ;)

    <snip>

SECONDLY - This REPLY BOX - the one I'm typing in at this minute - the normal "Reply to Thread" one - (not the "QUICK" one) is just slightly truncated width ways on the righthand side.

The vertical scroll bar is NOT "full width" - narrow "slider" and Up/Down arrows

OK, this is very minor, but just to add a little about my previous comment ...

When you hit the "Post Reply" button and the "Reply to Thread" page comes up (and you get the Title box and the Message box), the Message box has an "internal" scroll bar on the righthand side.
Obviously it is "greyed out" since there is an insufficient number of lines of text in the Message box for a slider to appear or for the Up/Down arrows to be active.

As the page initially appears - the scroll bar is the normal width you would expect it to be - like any other on any other page - the main one for IE for instance.

As soon as you key the first character into the Message box the width of the scroll bar shrinks by a fraction.

The same thing also happens if you Quote a post for a reply.

It is OK as it first appears - even with the quoted text in it, but it shrinks as soon as you key the first character of any reply
