I like the option to remove thanks if its hit in error. Sometimes on a fast moving thread with a troll people thank them by accident.
I've never heard of squiff-whiff (maybe is colloquial?) but I might start using it in conversation.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

Sorry if it's been mentioned, I only made it to page 8Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
Many thanks to the MSE IT bods for getting the forums back up well before schedule and with very few "real" issues.
I, too, am surprised at the moans and groans rather than just reports of issues, but c'est la vie.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
Thanks Martin - well done to the team!
The only bug I have had is that refreshing this thread throws up errors sometimes!
PS I take it they're working on the thanks bits - our times thanked tally is back and we have gained the ability to remove thanks!Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!

Not sure about "annoyance or anger" Martin.I can't say I've seen that.
Maybe a little bit of "frustration", but that is only natural. We are as eager to see things running smoothly as you are.
On the whole getting such a enormous board and database converted and up and running is no mean feat.

First of all great job to Ian & Neil. Thank you. It's important everyone understand this is a major upgrade on one of the biggest forum of its type in the world.
Please keep reporting and have a little patience.
Martin
I think you've all done a great job. :T :T :T
Certainly fewer problems than the last time. I hope that our 'feedback' does not all come accross as negative and that you, too, will bear with us while we 're-find our feet'.
And I hope you will be taking the 'team' out for a well earned dinner.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Hey All,
Just to let you know that we will be stopping modifications now for the evening. We will review all the earlier messages and all future ones over the following week. The plan is to firstly get the forums back to how it was before using upgraded software and then work to incorporate some of the new features offered with this release.
At the moment you wont have notice any real change and that is deliberate. We wanted to ensure core stability first, before introducing new features which could compromise this. Hopefully the stability is here so we can progress with further changes during the week.
We are aware of user profile page issues amongst other things and this is top of our list of jobs for the upcoming week.
Thanks
MSE Neil0
