    Hi Angela,

Your parcel should be fine. The new postage rates didn't come into force until Monday!

I managed to nip to the PO Saturday morning with a couple of items - normally I would send them out on the Monday but this way I saved a few pence !!!

so do i refund if they cant get it from their old address and take a hit to my wallet or any other suggestions

If their old and new addresses are not far apart theres no reason they cant pop round and pick it up.

In addition, the buyer must shoulder some of the blame by confirming the wrong address when ordering. Im sure Amazon would remove any bad feedback for this as it is clearly their fault that the internal messaging system wasnt working.

Thanks - their addresses arent too far apart (I only know as I used to live very local to them) so I hope they can pick them up

and I know what you mean about the buyer should have checked - when we moved, I made sure my amazon, paypal and ebay address got changed as quickly as the utilities :rotfl:

Pictionary board game, bought at charity shop still shrinkwrapped for £3.99, it sold for £15.50!
Millers antiques guide 1986!!! mum bought at bootsale for 50p, sold for £10.50 - couldn't believe this one, its an old antiques price guide, can't believe it sold, can't be useful surely?
Himalaya, michael palin, sold for £5, paid £1.50

    my old psych textbooks:
work & org psych sold for £16.50
    offender profiling sold for £18
    counselling in orgs £21

free yourself from harmful stress sold for £8.10, bought for 75p

It's funny that all my psych books sold in one weekend, are students buying books to read over easter maybe?

As you can prob tell am very happy right now :j I hope it continues and I may be able to do the pro-merchant thing.

    Good luck to everyone else

Oh yeah, just to keep you all updated, I received my pallet of books yesterday, 500 - course textbooks, computer & travel books. Made room in my garage and bought several boxes to store them in alphabetically. Started doing an inventory check yesterday, it took ages and am only about 1/4 through. Luckily the seller sent me an excel file with the titles and isbns otherwise it would take me to the end of he year to type all the details in. Once I have checked that all books have been received and made sure that there are actually 500 books I will leave the seller positive feedback and start selling them.

The great thing is that they are all new in condition and some are even shrinkwrapped, a bad thing is that some of the computer books are old and may not sell, but as long as I at least make my money back it will be an experience. I will keep you all posted, hopefully I will be able to start listing them by next weekend, I have opened up a new ebay userid and intend to open a new ebay shop, my current shop is called ebooks-n-things and I didn't want to confuse my buyers of real books, so I am about to open a new store called thebookchamber (my surname is chambers, hubby came up with that idea!) to just sell the real books, I think it will be more profitable to sell in the shops, especially for obscure books and non-fiction as there is not a lot of book competition on ebay except for fiction books, that will mean that whenever someone searches for my book it will come up most of the time as there will likely be less than 12 sellers, or whatever the cut off is for shops. Plus it means its only 8p per month to list it.

think I may have just rambled on too long...soz

  • Kat, it sounds like you've had a really good week with all those sales, nice profits there. With all of your books to list you might find a barcode reader to be of use instead of keying in all those ISBNs. I don't use one myself but you can see some listed on ebay.
  • Hi everyone, haven't sold much on Amazon for a while, but now have a problem, so can anyone help?

Sold CD on 13th feb and posted it that day. Got COP as usual. Have received an email TODAY! to say it wasn't received and that the buyer thinks there may be a problem with their postman. I am a bit annoyed that they haven't told me until now and they have asked for all kinds of personal information about me - address, phone number etc and I am not sure why.

Anyone else had this happen? If I have already been paid by Amazon, will refunding be a complete PIA?
"Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it. Don't wait for it. Just let it happen. It could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot black coffee."

I picked up a book in a second-hand shop at the weekend. THere are two listed already for £328! I then checked on bookfinder and abe books, only one on abebooks for £95 in denmark. What would you do?
