greent amusingly I really want aboy but am 90% certain that it will be a girl, even though they havent been able to tell in my scans... each to their own I suppose. I wanted a boy first because being the eldest girl sucked when I was growing up, that is my only reason for wanting a boy first ho hum :rolleyes:DS1 arrived 22/02/11! 8lb3oz

greent I think it's understandable
I'm very lucky in that I had reasons for wanting both a girl and a boy first. I wanted a girl just because I wanted a girl, but as we want more than one child then I wanted there to be a boy too and I would have wanted him to be the big brother - something I never really had and always wanted
However I wasn't looking forward to the helicopter wee
I guess I'm happy it's a girl because being a first I feel like more on ground I at least vaguely recognise?
I think if no. 2 turns out to be a girl too I might be disappointed though... I'd love to have one of each for the "complete set" :rotfl:
But I also think talking about it helpsDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

greent - Thank you for your post. As someone who is also worried about getting one gender over another, it is reassuring to know I am not the only one. I know I should be grateful to be pregnant at all, and It is very hard to put into words how I feel, but your post sums up my feelings too.Value of prizes 2010 - 2017: £8374 Wins 2022: Magic set

What an excellent list!! I hadnt thought of packing anything for OH - but I will suggest to him tonight that he puts a few bits together and keeps them in the car. I would hate for him to hold our baby wearing his work clothes. He is a mechanic!!0

It would be very interesting if we all added our 'gut feelings' on sex to the EDD list then we could see how many of us are right! I KNEW I was having a boy last time from about 6 weeks onwards. I suspect girl this time but am not sure how much of that is just because the pregnancy is so different - but I really shouldn't compare!0

MFD - brilliant list :T :T
as for the magicool, i know my local poundland had another brand of it, for of course, the surprising price of £1. i had bought some to use when i started walking to work (45min walk) but through it away in a cleaning fit after i got pregnant.0 -
I'm also someone that wells up and has a pain in the stomach when I hear the words 'it's a girl' on any drama documentary etc. I also feel terrible for feeling that way too. Glad to know I'm not alone.:j Trytryagain FLYLADY - SAYE £700 each month Premium Bonds £713 Mortgage Was £100,000@20/6/08 now zilch 21/4/15:beer: WTL - 52 (I'll do it 4 MUM)0

Hubby has 2 t-shirts on the list because we are hoping for a water birth so he may get a bit wet...but also because if I have to go anywhere in the first hour or so (if something should go wrong) then they ask hubby to put the baby under his t-shirt so he has some skin-to-skin contact...we thought that baby would like it more if it wasn't a minging t-shirt that had been worn for hours and stank of deoderant/sweat!!
I have also packed trunks for hubby although he doesn't want to get in the birthing pool with me at least there is an option if we have his trunks.Apparently men don't say no if their labouring ladies want them in there :rotfl:
