MFD - I may be wrong but i have it in my head that they need to weigh you if u want an epidural  although obv u won't need one with ur quick n simple birth ;)
You reminded me with talk of ur pram I saw an advert for the fancy new fabric for it (very nice) and it said Brangelina have one, ooooh get you! :p

    Only on my advice daahling!!!

An epidural is my worst fear...needles and spines etc. I will have one if needs be but it is the one thing that hubby and I have talked about the most on my non-existant birth plan. Yesterday at the hospital I was terrified in case they said C-section because planned C-section = epidural or spinal block

    hello all,

feely - good luck with your appointment this afternoon. will be thinking of you.

MFD - talk about setting the trend...brad and angelina!!!! what company

i know people spoke in the last thread, but what were the suggestions for larger sized nursing bras??? i have the usual places in town (M&S, BHS/ Debenhams etc) but am loathed to be measured to be honest, and plus i do not think they go as big as I would need them.
  • Afternoon ladies

Luc - good luck with being induced and we look forward to hearing the birth story and seeing piccys soon!

Durham - Labour vibes your way!

Sami - Thank you for that list of all the baby bits you have used. I have used it as a basis for my own list of what I still need to buy, which is MUCH longer than I thought it would be  .

Well, we might be going to the baby show on saturday :j .
I asked DH ages ago if we could go and he agreed, however he is supposed to be travelling to and from London all next week anyway, so I feel a little guilty to ask him to drive me there on saturday as well. He said he will look into travelling times, parking etc tonight and we can decide. But knowing my husband he probably won't decide until 11pm friday night  .

While I love you rational ladies, sometimes I just wanted all the 'feel good' lovey, huggy bits you get! And all the 'Oh hun thats a nice name' when it isn't and 'Oh sweetie you look fine' when you post a bump picture. I have the need to compare bump sizes, weight gain, bowel movements(!) and all that with various pregnant ladies :rotfl:

Sometimes I think we MSE ladies are the only sane pregnant women on the internet.

They stole Dakota!!!! Thieving so and so's!!! :rotfl:
MFD - the John Lewis chaps delivering my buggy rang the door and when I opened it the one at the door shouted back "yep it's the right house!" turned round looked and grinned - "well you did order a buggy right?" Guess that's me told I look very pregnant then :rotfl: In fairness it was kinda funny and definitely wasn't meant as malicious or anything but I can imagine SOME people might object - I didn't mind - especially as he didn't mind carrying my boxes in for me and putting them out the way or anything :)

Big hugs Caz and labour vibes to those who need them.

Had 20wk scan this am and convinced hubby NOT to find out what flavour we're having. Like Sami I might need some time to get my head around having a boy, but decided it is the only surprise left. Don't know what the other 2nd (and 3rd etc) timers think, but somehow this pg is just not as exciting as 1st time around? I feel bad for saying it and am trying hard to feel bonded with baby, but it's just not happening.

I kinda know what you mean. I don't feel as 'excited' as I was last time but I think that was part and parcel of it being a new experience. And this time I know what to expect and I am also not as panicky or worried so it all evens out I think. Plus with a 13 month old taking up all my time I am finding it hard to fantasise about baby without thinking about DS which then makes me feel guilty.

Finding out the sex is exciting whether you do it at 20 weeks, 32 or on the labour table! I have decided to find out because I want this baby to have all the same experiences in the womb that DS did. I feel that this one is a girl as it's so different (am not hairy this time and my boobs are massive which didn't happen last time) but if it's a boy I don't think I will be sad - it will certainly be cheaper!! In fact I need to find out to know if I am getting rid of all the boys clothes in the loft :D

I also like Isabella. I love the shortened form of Bella. However I have read on the internet that it's going to be huge this year due to the film Twilight. There are 3 Olivers at my sons nursery (of about 20 kids) which is loads. I don't want my kids to share a name but it's so so hard finding a name that is unusual enough not to be shared by half the kids in the school yet also not unusual enough that it gets them teased!! Such a responsibility! My DS's name is Alexander Robert and this time I really like Alice but I want to avoid an A name because my sis and bro both had names beginning with S and it was a nightmare at mail time!
