    Only on my advice daahling!!!

An epidural is my worst fear...needles and spines etc. I will have one if needs be but it is the one thing that hubby and I have talked about the most on my non-existant birth plan. Yesterday at the hospital I was terrified in case they said C-section because planned C-section = epidural or spinal block
:rotfl: just went back to find it and the other celeb was Christina Aguillera

    C-section is my nightmare too!!
I hate all things medical and choosing between needle in spine with seeing bubs born or GA (which IS an option) and not seeing birth would be like asking me to chose between a rock and a hard place. Thankfully I know I can give birth IYKWIM so praying 2nd bubs will be just as straightforward

Feelie - You think we are sane :p

Ooh - finally caught up - lots of chatting since yesterday afternoon - I've been catching up on and off since 7am this morning!

((hugs)) Caz - sounds like you need them.

Feelie - hope everything turns out ok! As you said, bubs would have clothes, nappies and a place to sleep if he did make an early entrance :D I'm impressed - you seem to have been going for it this past week :D

I think I have most stuff for bubs now.
    I still need to get:
moses basket (always out of stock whenever I go to get it - grr!) I do have a stand & sheets etc though!
nursing bras - although will wait until much closer to the time for these. Have never had late (.)(.) growth in pg - all growth being in first 8 weeks - but you never know!
outfit for baby to come home in - have lovely jackety-cardigan so far. Rest of babygros etc are from bigger sibling(s), but this one will need something new! (I know mum & mil will buy it stuff, as will others, but I want to choose the homecoming outfit) Will leave that until closer - haven't found anything I'm overly fussed on at the mo (lots of stuff which is 'nice' if I was needing to buy lots, but I don't, so I want something that really grabs me)
maternity pads & paper knickers (I too like the throw it all away thing - can't remember who else did)- keep meaning to add some to my tesco shopping, but never do.

I suppose I should also get a cheapy nightie for wearing in hosp just in case I end up in there for longer than a few hours. I'm still wearing normal pjs (just under the bump) and that's what I plan on wearing in general, but a nightie can be easier in hosp (I ruck it up whilst in the hosp bed, so any potential leaks can go on those maternity pad/ sheet things, and not my clothes! Am planning on being out asap though - providing babe turns the right way between now & then)

Oh - and would it be impolite of me to say I'm actually 4lb lighter than when I got pregnant?! (I'm 28weeks, I think - haven#t been keeping count - but basically same as Tine & Krystal) :p:p

right - now to see how much you lot have chatted since I've been typing that!!

They stole Dakota!!!! Thieving so and so's!!! :rotfl:
MFD - the John Lewis chaps delivering my buggy rang the door and when I opened it the one at the door shouted back "yep it's the right house!" turned round looked and grinned - "well you did order a buggy right?" Guess that's me told I look very pregnant then :rotfl: In fairness it was kinda funny and definitely wasn't meant as malicious or anything but I can imagine SOME people might object - I didn't mind - especially as he didn't mind carrying my boxes in for me and putting them out the way or anything :)
I realised I must look preg about 2 weeks ago when there was someone trying to recruit people for that slimfast style weight loss thing that rowlands pharmacy do
they were in my local sainsburys and moaning to each other that there was no one to try and sell to and completely ignored me

  • Do you know I have a fear of canulars (sp?) in my arm - born from loads of operations and I can't think about anything else. I once had 120 stitches in my tummy after a 15lb cyst was removed off my ovary and all I could say was 'please take this out of my hand and this one out of my arm'. Nurses were laughing at me! Epidural in spine I don't care about but the fact I would also be on a drip TERRIFIES me and I live in fear that I will have to have one. I was panicking when I was induced as if the second lot of gel hadn't worked then I would have been on the drip and that would have made my birth experience a whole lot worse. Hoping for just gas and air again this time as morphine and it's derivatives make me violently sick.

MFD - I may be wrong but i have it in my head that they need to weigh you if u want an epidural  although obv u won't need one with ur quick n simple birth ;)
You reminded me with talk of ur pram I saw an advert for the fancy new fabric for it (very nice) and it said Brangelina have one, ooooh get you! :p

Ooh - I didn't get weighed for my epidural - although that was 11 years ago... think I'd have smacked the dr / anaesthetist one if they'd tried to get me off the bed and onto scales at that point!!

I don't want my kids to share a name but it's so so hard finding a name that is unusual enough not to be shared by half the kids in the school yet also not unusual enough that it gets them teased!! Such a responsibility! My DS's name is Alexander Robert and this time I really like Alice but I want to avoid an A name because my sis and bro both had names beginning with S and it was a nightmare at mail time![/quote]

im exactly the same, its so hard isnt it! i like Jasmine Elizabeth for a girl but then we have the problem of the same initials. im now considering Emma as it was my great grandma's name and its not very common anymore.

we are really struggling with a boys name, so far on my list i have Riley and Jamie but havent put them to OH yet so dont know what he will think
  • Emma is good. Emily was on our list last time before we knew what we were having. I also like Riley it's fairly uncommon. I think Jamie is fairly high up but it is dropping so that would be a good bet!

Sami - Thank you for that list of all the baby bits you have used. I have used it as a basis for my own list of what I still need to buy, which is MUCH longer than I thought it would be  .

    ooh I feel special :D
I've realised I missed of one thing tho, I've got a sling too this one is new to me for this baby and I already have this one in blue
