Jenny74 - Now if you changed the Sunday to a Saturday, it could be me comming to visit your property.

Just spoke to the EA who valued us today and they have, hopefully, our ideal property for sale..... So we are going Saturday at 3.30

LOl, you're not in Nottingham are you? It is a coincidence, but it would be freaky if it were for the same day.

I love giving home made gifts, which one of my children would you like? :D :A :D

Just thought I'd let you know that the sale of my parents flat completed today - we had the call from conveyancing solicitor about half an hour ago. Husband called the Agents, and they were just handing over the keys to our purchasers.

We took out the last of the furniture (some is now residing in Mother in Law's cellar!) and bits and pieces yesterday, and read the meters and also took photos of the meter readings.

We left a card and a bottle of Champagne to welcome our purchasers. I hope that they will be very happy in the flat.

Despite knowing that we would be leaving the flat for the last time, I was very upset and cried all over Ma-in-Law and my younger daughter and her husband. I guess it was because it was the end of an era, and almost like a final Goodbye to my parents. Plus (and I know this prob sounds silly) it still feels wrong to have sold my parents' home without their permission!

So I still have very mixed feelings, but it's gone now, and we got a decent price despite its poor condition. It truly was a case of Location Location Location! Which was the only thing that made me feel like hanging on to it, but I could never have lived there - would have felt too spooky!

Will keep reading this thread, and I wish the very best of luck to all of you here. I still can't believe how fast the flat sold with the market the way it is.

Best wishes for fast sales and decent prices!

    That's a lovely gesture!
  • Im glad everything went ok Maggie.

I agree, that is a lovely gesture, something which we'll be doing here (even though I've been far from happy here, but thats another story!)
  • After a long, dry period, some news from us.

We have two viewings today - both FTBs, one HomeBuy approved and two tommorrow, one FTB, one already sold to an FTB.

So, fingers crossed, we might just get somewhere!

Just a quick note to wish you luck, Chartreuse! Do please let us know how it goes.

I'm sure there's a novel or a film in all the stuff on this thread - or possibly a TV series? Any budding screen play writers out there? :rotfl:

Seriously though, the cleaning, the decluttering, the butterflies when first viewers come, the waiting for EA feedback on the viewing... Hopefully culminating in a successful sale as the Happy Ending! :D

cant sell if people have stopped coming through the door!
