Orange Retention Offers

I've only a matter of days to go now until my contract ends. I've been thinking of phoning Orange regarding an upgrade just before the end of my deal and (assuming I don't get offered a suitable deal) phoning again afterwards. Anyone got any experience of the best time to phone? Should I give it a bash this week or am I better waiting until my contract has actually expired?

Been on the phone to orange a fair few times over the last couple weeks but very happy with the deal i have managed to get! My current contract was 500 mins x-net & unlimted txts for £35. I was set on the new Sony C905 as i really want an iphone but they really are just too expensive. Orange despite 4 or 5 calls are standing solid on the c905, only available for free on £30+ contracts or £250 on a dolphin 20 £20 contract...hmm not worth it! During these phone calls the guy was tryna haggle me - at first offered me several 'b' league phones for the same current contract but for £15 line rental...hmm tempted. Had a think then rang back today - spoke to a diff person & went over same things & the guy offered me the nokia 6500 classic for the same mins & txts for £5 (five quid!) month rental!
So i've got 500 x-net mins & unlimited txts plus the nokia 6500 for £5 a month, bargain! altho i really wanted the C905 i'd be daft to turn that offer down - will save me so much money! Woo!0 -
Trying for the £5 deal, so far no joyNo one said it was gonna be easy!0

seems like i got a good deal in the end
i basically got offered 30 pound a month off any contract i want thats was after a lot of pushing... plus free broadband
still got to pay for phones i want but, omnia for fifty and n96 for 100, but the rest are pretty much free0 -
Right guys I would like your opinion on this deal....
Currently on Dolphin 35 - 600 mins, unlimited text's. I use nowhere near 600mins but use a lot of text messages.
I have my heart set on Sony Ericsson C905 and have been offered...
C905 for £130.00 payment which I will get back in credit (so effectively the phone is free) and offered a tariff of 400 mins and unlimited text's for £25 per month.
With the phone being very new it's not a bad deal I guess especially looking at 'bjons' offer for the C905 (two up from this one).
What you think? I did try for data add on's etc but had no luck.0 -
Have phoned Orange a few times past couple of weeks as my contract expires on 9th November. Told the guy at customer services I had been offered Sony Ericsson C905 for free, 400 mins and 400 texts on O2 for £30 a month. After being told previously that i would have to pay for C905 I have been offered Sony Ericsson C905 for free, 850 mins and 500 texts for £25 a month. Is this a good deal?0

How do you get orange to negotiate? They say i have to pay £200 for a C905 and won't budge. I said i wanted them to price -match an offer of one for free, plus £22.50 a month for service plan. They weren't interested. They sent me the letter stating i will be disconnected on Nov27th. (they say it takes them a month to disconnect you.) Although i haven't spent much this year, i have been with them for 8 years and have been a big spender with them in the past. I am a bit sad at their ambivalence towards me. Is it just pot-luck whether you get a friendly call-centre person who wants to help?0

...sorry meant to explain I asked to leave to go with better-offer company, which is why the disconnection, but it was hopefully meant to make Orange realise i was serious about leaving. Actually i don't really want to leave; but i don't want to pay mega-bucks either.0

think it does depend on who you get at customer services, I just told them the deal I had been offered from O2 and he came back with this deal0

The system tells the CRS what they can offer you based on your worth as a customer. If your spend in the year isn't enough you won't get a good offer.
The CSR's can not over ride this system.0
