They can be right cuties most of the time, they can have their moments like any other tho lol. You wouldn't appreciate the good bits tho if there were no tear your hair out ones
It's difficult to say as every child is different, I would say maybe 14 months is a little young to grasp that a baby is growing inside you. With her being quite young Poppy may become a little clingy with a new "rival" for your affections, but plenty of mummy hugs, reassurance and involvement with her new sibling will put her at ease.
DS was 2yrs 4months when DD was born and I was so worried about how he would react and whether or not he would take to her. In the end he turned out very proud and protective of her. I think it was mainly cos he was in the house when I gave birth to her and held her not long after she was born. I went to tesco a few hours after and I remember it so well cos I thought it was so sweet that he was telling everyone that this was his new sister but he had to have his arm around her constantly as if to protect her.I live in my own little world, but it's ok as everyone knows me here

i had my daughter not long after my son theres a year between them to get my son prepared we brought a doll and showed him right from the beginning how to hold a baby,how to wash,change,and feed a baby i also made sure he understood certain times i would have to concentrate on just baby.
to do this i would pretend to feed and change this doll baby.basically i did everything with a doll u would with a newborn right from the start of the pregnancy.by the time i had my daughter he was used to a "baby" and hes been brilliant with her right from the start he never had jealousy issues also when i had to spend time with baby his dad would spend some time with him not possible if ur oh works or is not involved.
as for telling a 4 year old we have had it this time son being 5 daughter being 4 and they have again been really good.they understand they have to be gentle with him and that mummy feeds him with her boobies.children understand so much more than we think they will and they adapt alot better aswell so far theres been no jealousy but we are involving in them in everything and trying to make sure they arnt missing out on things just because the babies here. we have been honest and have told them when we cant do things the reasons why and when we will be able to do them again so they know.i think honesty with them and not to much detail is key espicailly in answering questions.my kids asked how the baby comes out so i told them he comes from mummys belly down a special way and comes out of mummys rude parts i didnt think telling them that he pops out my belly was quite right thought it may frighten them.hope this helpsriley john born june 28th 2.35pm-8lb14.5 hour labour from waters to birth.0 -
