sleep when baby sleeps is the best advice dont stress about washing etc your partner can do it.involve him in changing and feeding and if ur bottle or expressing let him do a night feed for ya.

im so lucky hubby is cooking my food,making drinks,doing the cleaning and helping with the other 2.he says its his duty to do it all while im feeding the baby bless.

riley has jaundice because of the rheusus so means he gets to spend time in the sun.breastfeeding is going well can express some now ASDA TOMMEE TIPPEE BREAST PUMP IS £10.we got one last night was very impressed.its cool because riley can have some expressed milk now and go on breast aswell.

I had read about your BFP on the TTC board, I still have a little read to keep up with everyone. So congratulations and i hope you enjoyed your anniversary dinner!

As far as going to the doctors I would phone up first and ask who you should see, as I had to see the midwife and not the doctor and some won't see you until a certain number of weeks. But obviously if you have questions then just get an appointment with your doc as soon as possible. I just went alone but OH has came to the other appointments with me!

This is my first baby so for ideas for breaking the news to your step son then I can tell you what my sister did and that was to wait until the 12 week scan then show the scan picture and have a chat about it then.

Hi Poppyjoe - anniversary dinner was nice thank you but I think it may take me a while to get used to what I can't eat now...we went for an italian and all my favourites of goats cheese and med-rare steak are now big no-no's. Other things I just don't fancy anymore - this is going to be a learning curve, I love my food!!

I phoned the surgery yesterday and the fantastic receptionist there sorted me with a mid-wife appointment next wednesday, she was also very happy for me - I visited a lot a few months ago to stop smoking (3 1/2 months now - thank god). DH does want to come with me although this may cause some rumours at work...we work with the same companies and both of us will have to miss meetings that morning!

Which kind of leads me on to telling people, do most people wait until the 12 week scan? I am not sure that I will wait that long and, other than superstition, I can't see the point in waiting (not wanting to be rude to anyone, I am often accused of seeing the world differently from everyone else!)

We have decided that we will take DSS out for tea next Tuesday and tell him then, making a big play of him being the first to know. He's quite astute for an 8 year old so I am not sure we would be able to hide it from him anyway! Tuesday will be the first time we see him (he is away with Sea Scouts this weekend). Then we will do DH's family on Wednesday and my family at the weekend (they don't live nearby). We can then let work know in a couple of weeks time. It's all so exciting :T


I am looking forward to sharing in all the experience and knowledge of the ladies on here and hoping that all have a safe and healthy pregnancy.

i had this in my bounty pack www.bounty.com/softest for a free pack of nappies you should get it in ur bounty pack u get on the ward but no harm applying for it now.

i got my partner this book http://www.amazon.co.uk/Blokes-Guide-Pregnancy-Jon-Smith/dp/140190288X some ppl like it others dont personally i read it and found it really really funny.makes some assumptions about things but this book is from a guy whos speaking from his own experience so thats the reason.i personally would recomend this book.

Hi everyone Baby Jake arrived on 25th June at 36 weeks induced as an emergency due to an infection developing in the waters around him making both me and him ill as I had prolonged ruptured membranes. He spent 48 hours in scbu as he wasnt breathing too well both out of hospital after 5 days on IV antibotics. He weighed 5lb 15 oz at birth but he has lost some getting him weighed tomorrow when the midwife comes. Good luck to all those who are expecting their babies soon x

Congrats, MFD!!! I too sneak into the TTC thread to check on you girls. They are such a lovely and supportive bunch aren't they?!.

My DH came/comes to every single appointment with me as it is important for him to be involved from an early stage. Luckily he is able to do this but its not as practical for everyone and many just take their OH's to the scans.

Its a very personal thing about when to tell people your news. We told the world and his dog during my first preg as we were so excited but unfortunately I miscarried at 10w . So, whilst preg with Poppy and with this preg we have waited until the 12w scan just to make sure everything was OK.

I'm 16w today and time is going so quickly. I saw my MW yesterday and my BP has gone down slightly and bump is measuring just right! :cool:. I'm now counting down to my 20w scan on 1 August to see if its a brother or a sister for Poppy!

traveller - Baby boy born on 4th May 12.35 am (35 minutes after his due date!)
gemsygem (Sheel's daughter)- Erin Maria Lilian arrived on 5th May at 3.45pm (16 days after due date!) weighing 7lbs 10oz.
Cookie08 - 6th June - boy Tyler-Jay (TJ) - due 7th weighed 7lb 9oz by emergency c-section
Clarkey1000 - Baby Boy Oliver James arrived 7th June - 7lbs- Water birth
skyeandeviesmummy - Baby boy Jake Harrison 25th June - 5lb 15 oz at 5 am
